Obama is the first colored president in the United States! What do you think? How do you think he's going to impact United States and the world? I personally am happy that he is elected. I know I'm not American, but America's on-goings has impact to the world, and I'm really happy that he is the president..:) Please do share with me what you think...

They are saying now that Obama is not the first President with African-American roots. In fact they are saying there has been 5 presidents with African blood. The way I see it Obama is just a good example of what happens when a bunch of uneducated/uninformed people run out and vote. Far too many people voted for him strictly because he was black. Personally I don't think he is President material. I don't have anything against the man other than I just don't think he is the best man for President with the mess we are in right now. There is another thing we better be looking at. Obama probably won't be able to get very many to agree with him when it comes to getting anything passed. Talking a good talk and then backing it up with a good walk can be just about impossible sometimes. I hope he does a good job because if this country ever needed good help it's now.

Everyone in this country, if we search hard enough, has some black family members down the line. It's a genetic certainty.

I'm not happy. Not happy at all. I don't agree with what he stands for, what he ran with as his platform or his running mate. But there isn't much I can do about it now. He's been elected. He will take over, and he'll probably do the reverse Robin Hood syndrome on us all. Steal from the poor to give to the rich. He promises tax breaks to the lower class and with tax increases to the wealthy. What he fails to realize is that 5% of the country's population controls well over 90% of what goes on in Washington. If the rich don't want to pay more taxes, they won't and that leaves the burden on us middle class folks to carry the load.

I think the election of Obama has finally ratified the democratic process of America. For too long the elections were generally marred by the race equations. It is great to see that finally things have moved on. But actually speaking race worked in favor of Obama in this election with 96% of the African American vote being cast in his favor!! That's a huge number!! Cheers! Ram

Interesting.. I just think that if the Republicans win again, there'll be more wars and the rich will be richer and the poor will be poorer.. that'll suck.. Yeah.. I really don't care that he's colored, it's just that he made history.. :)

His meteoric rise has a lot of similarities with JFK. I would hope that he does not have complete resemblance with JFK for his sake and for the US of A's sake. Cheers! Ram

If Obama can do just half of what he said he would we will be ok but I doubt he can. There is an unseen force at work in Washington that most people forget. Big money uses the people in Washington to control this country and take it where they want it to go. If the people in Washington that are elected want to stay in Washington they have no choice but follow the rules of the rich. The price of oil, food and everything else, the housing crash and a number of other things back this up. This time the rich let their greed get the best of them and they made some serious mistakes that would have put a lot of them out of business if Bush and Co had not bailed them out. It would put Obama in a very dangerous position but he just might have enough of the general public supporting him that he could break some of the grip the rich has on this country. I sure wouldn't want him to wind up another JFK and that is exactly what will happen if he isn't real careful.

His supporters has high hopes of him and the administration he'll build. Now, he's got a real chance to make a difference not only in the US, but on the entire world. I certainly hope he'd make good use of his time in office, especially his first 4 years, 'coz it looks like people aren't willing to wait any longer to see results, by the way they'd voted. Politicians to me, however, are generally not very reliable, and he in particular, is young and not very experienced. He might be able to use these for his good, though. We'll have to see. Time alone will tell...

I am extremely happy he won. Not because of race, but I think he will pull the country together. He won my state and it always go to Republicans. I think he will work hard to help all Americans, not just the rich.

I think he will do so as well.. And I'm glad McCain didn't win, cause he will help the rich and stop thinking of the poor... and Obama will help everyone! :)

I am very excited that Obama was elected. Not because he is black and yes, I know that everyone focuses on that because it's a historical event and that's great but we need to put the color of his skin behind us, move on and respect the man for what he wants to accomplish. I'm not saying that African-Americans shouldn't feel proud or anything like that because goodness knows, they probably never thought an African American could be President and here is Obama. But when I talk about Obama, I just like to talk about what he stands for and what I think he can do for the country. In other words, I don't want his whole term in office being about the color of his skin. When historians write about his term in office, I hope it is not only to mention that he was African American but because he actually kept some of the promises he made to this country and to all Americans. I believe Obama can change things for the better and that's what I want to read about in years to come.
