Christopher Lloyd lived in Montecito, California, area hit by wildfires.Actor's $11 million house was lost in the fire. Lloyd, who lost much memorabilia, will not rebuild home. This is so sad. Would you rebuild your home after a disaster? Or would you just move? http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/11/17/people.christopher.lloyd.ap/index.html

Aww, well at least nobody was hurt. I'd rather lose my home than the life of a loved one. If it were me, I'd probably move away from the reminders of the devestation.

Yep me too. What surprises me are the people who have been repeatedly hit by things like hurricanes. They rebuild and stay multiple times.

That makes no sense in that situation. But this was a fire, it's a bit different. Hurricanes you know will come back. Fires probably won't come back.

I had a friend loose her home in a fire. Thankfully no one was hurt not even the pets. The animals were all outside. That's really all that matters. When faced with a disaster of this magnitude you learn what is really important. She bought a new lot in the same area and rebuilt on it .

Oh that is a shame that he lost all his stuff and home. I will always remember him in Back to the Future movies and other shows. I wouldn't rebuild in the same place no because of the chance it could happen again. Seems California is always ravaged by fires every year and people lose so much but yet remain. I guess it is no different then rebuilding in Louisiana after all them hurricanes hit.

Wow...not only did he lose the house but all that memorabilia too. I would have thought that he would have stored it somewhere safer since California is kind of known for fires. ~~MY OWN PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF**

Hello ersmommy. It is such a big loss for him that this expensive house was burnt down. I am so sorry for his loss. Well, if this happens to me, I don't think that I will be able to rebuild it as ours is an apartment. I think that we will get some compensation from the insurance company and we will have to move somewhere else to live in. It is terrible to think of this. Safety is the most important. We must be alert of our safety whenever. Thank you for the discussion, ersmommy.

Hrm. I'd rebuild, I think. Not really sure and I hope I never have to consider the matter more seriously than that.

That is terrible. that is alot of money for a home anyway. I feel so sorry for the people who are losing their homes though. I seen this on the news earlier.

I would be collecting the insurance money and moving somewhere else. I would not want to rebuild in the same spot and have the reminder of what was lost.
