Non-Stop Headaches and eye aches

I was just at the eye doctor less then a week ago. I've worn glasses and contacts since I was in the 3rd grade! I got there today to pick up my new set of contacts and felt sick when I realized how thick the folder they have on me is. I want laser eye surgery, but I'm a chicken! I had hard contacts before, but I was really to young to be dealing with them and I broke like six of them. Then I went to soft contacts, today I got a new pair of hard contacts. Aaaah, I'm kind of wishing soft wasn't so expensive because I think I would switch back. Miserable day in eye land for me.

My eyes are better now at 55 then they were at 25! Granted, I can't READ stuff anymore without glasses, but I can see distance better than I could at a younger age.

hmmm...thats strange. My father is also wearing glasses for over 30 years and his eye sight is also getting better. And my eye sight is getting worst. I am wearing glasses now and still i get headaches and eye pain. Don't know how i can get rid of these stupid glasses.

I've been to the eye Dr. recently. . .had laser procedures on both eyes for glaucoma. But the good news is that my distant vision has been slowly improving over the past 10 or 15 years, and even though I've lost about 30% of the peripheral vision in the left eye and have a cataract on it, I hardly ever wear my glasses any more except for driving and working in the yard. My near and intermediate vision isn't perfect, but my glasses hurt my eyes, and I can't get a new prescription until the glaucoma is under control and the cataract is removed.

My eyes are getting worse I need to get to the doctor and get a new eye exam I need a new pair of glasses since my others were broken and I haven't been able to wear them. The television is getting a little blurrier and I can't see the writing on it like I before. It's been awhile since I seen a eye doctor though. My mom went a few months ago see is diabetic and her glasses need changing and she was told not to drive because her eyes were getting worse since she has trouble keeping her sugar under control. They scheduled her a appointment to have surgery but she cancelled twice afraid to do it.

I haven't been to the eye doctor in a couple of years the last time I went he told me I just needed reading glasses. He said that I could get dime store reading glasses.

How in the world did you remember all that the eye doctor told you about your eyes and this Optimap? If it was me I would have forgotten half the stuff he said before I left his office.

Nice to know your eyes are getting better. I have never heard of that procedure. My daughter works for an eye doctor - has for about 16 years. I haven't had my eyes checked in awhile. She has moved closer home to another doctor and I'm thinking of going up there and have my eyes checked. It's cheaper than the ophthalmologist she worked for so many years. I really need a new pair of glasses.

That's sad, Bob!! I have myopia that the doctor says has "stabilized" now. I use plastic glasses. I don't like lenses, and I am terrified of laser treatment. Yup, I think I have experienced the Optomap without knowing what it is. I do remember that bright light shining in my eye, and it is so difficult not to blink. I hope the new glasses treat you better.

I have not been tested for god knows how long. I am still young (28) but have a lot of issues with my eyes the only thing with me is I am told they will never get better and even if it goes worse there is nothing they can do about it. Well anyway.... Last year I tool my mother to the eye doctor (she is 54) and I was shocked at how good her sight is (she does need reading glasses) she was about 6m from the chart and I was about 3m. She managed to do all her lines with each eye and I was looking at the chart with both eyes at the same time and wasnt able to read pass line 4-5. She had all the tests done and apart from a little dot at the back of the eye she went great. By the time I am her age I will need microscope to read:)))))

Hello Grandpa Bob. I used to have this problem of headache radiated from the temple to the eyes. It is usually when I use my eyes too much on line. I think that the screen of the computer does a lot of bad to our eyes if we overstay online. I wish you to take good care of your eyes to reduce the terrible headaches. Be well again soon, Bob.
