Non-Stop Headaches and eye aches |
|
Well I have been getting these terrible headaches that ran from my eyes around to my face. I could hardly see the TV with my glasses anymore. SO I went to the eye Dr today for an exam and new glasses. Now we all have heard the eyes get worse with age right? NOT!! MIne are getting better as far as seeing distances. Close up, my bifocals need changing badly. So I now have new glasses on order so I can see better and hopefully this will rid me of these head/eyc aches as well. Now they have a new machine called Optomap. It takes photos of the retina. One eye at a time and a bright green light shines then flashes. Painless and wuick. They usually do 2 photos of each eye. But I moved and had 3 of each done. A much better procedure than in the past. Previously the Dr could get a 320 degree view of the retina, now with this Optimap they get a 200 degree view seeing possible things like cancer of the eye, Glaucoma, Retinal detachment, Macular Degeneration and others earlier than before. SO have you been to the eye Dr lately? Are you eyes better or worse than before? Ever have this Optomap done? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

51. wrld_n_harmony (355) | 1 year ago | You know? The exact thing happened to me a couple months ago! Isn't it SUCH a great feeling to know that for whatever reason, your eyes are actually getting BETTER?! My prescription was cut in half my last appt.
I haven't heard of the Optimap, but it seems pretty cool!

53. tess1960 (1581) | 1 year ago | Eyes do get worse with age, But, there is a time frame usually in late 40's to early 50's that the eyes will get better in one aspect and worse in another. Mine changed these lat two times I went. I got bi-focals 4 years ago and then this year my distance vision changed whereas I've always been better at distance and worse at closeup, now it is the other way around. Tow years ago when I was checked it had not changed enough to warrant getting new glasses so I just took my glasses off for reading upclose. This time (about 2 months ago) I told him the taking them off upclose was not working as well and he said the distance needed changed and the upclose. He said it is my age as my stigmatism has changed. My eye doctor expects the change to my vision to reverse somewhat in a few years time, 3 or 4. The same thing happened with my husbands eyes.
Good luck with your head aches, the new glasses probably will help.

54. photographygirl73 (1982) | 1 year ago | Both my husband & I went a few months ago & each of us got new glasses & we were both fitted for contacts. We usually get our eyes checked every year. As for your headaches if you continue to get them even after you get your new glasses then it might very well be sinus headaches. I get them all the time & usually it's right above my eyes.

56. SuzyQ12 (1893) | 1 year ago | I've not been to a eye doctor in years. I think my vision is about the same. I don't have any problems and no headaches. I hope this really helps you in your eye aches and headaches you are experiencing. A friend of mine has migraine headaches that bother her alot. I know headaches are no fun at all. Best wishes to you.

57. Shar19 (2761) | 1 year ago | Hope you start to feel better. You probably just needed an updated prescription. I go to the eye doctor every year since I wear contacts. I think my eyes have gotten a little worse. I wonder if it's from the contacts?

| 58. cowgirlheart (89) | 1 year ago | The Optomap is so cool. My husband has it done during his eye exams because of diabeties and high blood pressure, which shows up on this photo - so amazing. I had corrective eye surgery about 8 years ago at 34, the best money I ever spent. I had worn glasses and contacts since about second grade - not fun. Had to wear expensive corrective goggles to swim, water and snow ski when I was a kid. My daughter now wears contacts and glasses, and has a heck of a time with them when she rides horses and plays softball - lots of dirt! I can't wait until she is old enough for the surgery. About 2 years ago my daughter tried to wear lenses that shape your eye while you sleep so that you see 20/20 during the day. It was an amazing thing, only not very comfortable, and she ended up stopping. They used to Optomap to show us how the surface of her eye was changing by wearing the lenses at night. Kind of like having the corrective surgery little bits at a time. Going to the eye doctor can help find out ify ou have other problems like high blood pressure and diabetes, and can also check to see how you are doing if you already have these things. So all of you - PLEASE go at least once a year! Grandpa Bob - so happy to hear you are doing better!

59. rusty2rusty (4186) | 1 year ago | I have not been to the eye doctors lately at all. But I know I really need to go. As my good eye is started to see some letters and such that are blurry. i am legally blind in my left eye all ready. So, I am sure eye glasses will be in order once I get to the doctors. But that takes money that my family doesn't have right now. Hopefully income tax time. But I did have to get my daughter to pairs of glasses this year.

60. rvangeld (290) | 1 year ago | I has been a while since I have gone to the eye doctor, but I need to go back again soon. My eyes are getting slowly worse, because everytime I go to the eye doctor, I need a new set of glasses and a new perscription. I have never had that done all I have had done are the exam where you look at the letters on the wall and the puff of air thing, which I hate.
