Non-Stop Headaches and eye aches

Well, that's good that your sight is getting better. I've never been to the eye doctor before. You will have to post a picture of your new glasses when you get them.

It's been over two years since I've been to the eye doctor.

I don't have headaches due to my glasses. For me my eyes are getting worse. Everytime I go see the doctor for my eyes, a new glasses with higher grading is prescribed. I have a progressive glasses where I used one grade for seeing near object and the other grade for seeing far object. It's a bit expensive but that's how it's is. I have not tried the new Optimap. My doctor still look around my eyes using lights and the scope. I don't know if he can see everything with it but I guess he have a lot of experience to know if you have some problem. I hope so.

I haven't been in over ten years.. The last time that I went, I went for the "Special", 2 pairs for $99.00 and I ended up with 3 pairs for $500.00, huge jump.. Of course I had all of the "special" conditions (stigmatism, and others) which ended up costing much more but I can't afford this kind of "Specials" anymore.. It sounds like they have really gotten "uptown" with the eye exam and equipment.. I will have to go and have mine checked before long as I don't see quite as well as I used to..

i think my eyes are not in good condition
i work at least 8 hours a day in front of a computer
i sleep late and i don't eat my veggies

i had several prescrition of corrective lenses but i keep losing them so i gave up
right now, things are little blurry around the edges
especially when there are too much light.

I too am having bad headaches caused by my weak eyes... I'm not sure if it gotten worse because my last check-up was two years ago when i had my third glasses c",) have been using it all the time for the first year and no longer wearing it always as of now. Because many told me that wearing eyeglasses will increase my eye grade, twas confirmed by my eye doctor. What i'm doing right now is i take vitamins and have eye rest every now and then... In fact i only wear it when i have headaches and it works for me. Well that optomap is really wonderful, and i wish we have that here. Hope you'll feel better with your new glasses granpabob! i haven't got new glasses in over 10 years,but it really doesn't seem my vision's changed.my family has a history of cataracts,i probably should go in.

i have asked repeatedly for bifocals-i have to keep taking them on and off or i get a headache,but they tell me i'm too young.that sounds silly to me,a 90 year old could have the same degree of vision as me,right?

I am another one who was helped by aging. I was so nearsighted that I couldn't get a driver's license until I got glasses. The eye doctor told me that my eyes would go the other way as I aged. At the time, I didn't believe him, but he was right. After 10 or 15 years of having a restricted license, I passed the eye test without my glasses, and there was a period of about the same length when I needed no glasses. When I got into my mid 40s, I noticed that I was having a problem following the line in my bookkeeping ledger. I got my eyes examined and, sure enough, needed glasses again. I was able to pass the eye test the first time I got my license renewed after having to get glasses again but was not so lucky the next time. Yes, I've had an Optomap done - twice. Medicare paid for it with no question.

Hi Grandpa Bob. I have never heard of Optomap before. It sounds like a great procedure. The last time I had an eye check-up was almost 5 years ago before I had my eye laser treatment. My vision used to be very poor. That laser treatment gave me a 20-20 vision. Hope you are feeling well now.

My mother, who was very nearsighted, hardly wears her glasses at all anymore. It seems her eyes are getting better with age. My prescription changes, but my eyes haven't started getting better yet.
