Volkswagen Beetle, is it a girls car?

There are cars made for guys and gals. A sports car is a guy’s car, muscle cars too. Mini vans are made for gals since they cart their brood all over town. If someone says your car is “cute” then you better be a girl. Do you think the Volkswagen Beetle is a girl’s car?

It is interesting how this car is perceived now.
I remember the guys I saw driving in them and trying to have that "fire drill" in which they would at a stop get out of the car and then pile into it again or even try to see how many people they could pile into it.
I remember too a man and his mother driving on the freeways here in the United States and calling out "snug bug" any time they spotted one of those cars on the road.
I also remember seeing someone drive the car in the water on television and saw that it did not sink and personally witnessed a person driving a car down a mountain without needing chains when mine needed them...
I also remember the movie: Herbie the love bug with the race car driver winning the race and getting the girl.
So, to me these cars are manly enough for a man and cute enough for a women... They are unisex cars.

I just love Volkswagen Beetles!!
I have always wanted a canary yellow or a apple green one with Daisy hubcaps. Do I think it is a woman's car? No, not really totally a woman's car look at Herbie the love bug. He wasn't portrayed to be woman's car. But I feel that more woman do own the car then men. It is a masculinity thing men have with their cars they have to have I'm a man hear me roar on them..It is a ego thing maybe.

I do believe cars are unisex. If I like a particular model I don't care if it was designed for guys or gals. AS long as I like the model or if it is affordable I would go for it. © ronaldinu 2008

Hmm, I think it depends on how you look at it. With only the form and the design it could be said that the Beetle is a girls car but once the owner pumps it up and decks it out with cool gadgets and a nice body with cool paint then I think it wont be mistaken for a guy's car.^_^

Well, you make an interesting point because I don't think I've seen a guy driving a Beetle since they came back en vogue over the last 10 years or so. So, I think I've got to agree with you on this one. A Volkswagen Beetle is probably a girl's car...

Nope.. I think Volkswagen beetle is cool.. I like the overall shape of the car and it's cute.. hehe ^_^ Though it might be small, but as long as one has got good driving skills, even this car can beat those sports car.. lol =D All cars have their own advantage, and it depends on we are using the car for whatever purpose.. hehe

In all honesty, I have to say yes. They are just tiny and cute, and even come in mostly feminine colors. Plus they seem like they would be too small for a lot of guys to drive. It really is a very feminine looking car. So I am sorry to say that yes I think it is a girl's car.

I think its a girl's car, I used to want one, but I decided they were too small for me. Yeah, I always say that car's cute, and somebody will say usually my brother or husband will say, cars aren't supposed to be cute...lol.

No, I don't really think the VW is a girl's car - in fact, lads look pretty cool driving them! I don't understand the 'car' thing anyway - a well serviced vehicle which gets from A to B is the only important factor. We have a twin-cab utility with a canopy on the back, so we can transport anything we like and also have room for a couple of passengers if necessary. It's a very functional vehicle - not a thing of beauty or for posing purposes.

I think a Volkswagon Beetle is for anyone. My son has one that he drives a long distance to work and back and it really gets good gas mileage. They have a Durango and a big truck, but the Beetle beats them all on gas mileage. I think they are nice and a good buy for anyone. I don't consider any car as a girl or guy's car. It's all in how a person feels or likes.

But I really love and dream to have a Beetle in the near future.
