Woman gets fired for saying "Merry Christmas"...  

Wait... Christmas isn't even really a religious day, wasn't it already proven that JC couldn't have been born in winter? Nowadays, its just a day you're forced to buy toys for kids. She lost her job for that?

her job gave her specific instructions
and they gave them for a reason
so they couldnt be sued for offending anyone
she failed to do her job as she was told and put the company at risk which made her a liability
so yes it was right that she got fired over it
personally I think she is an idiot

i doubt God is going to strike her down for saying happy holidays
seriously Christmas is included in happy holidays so it isnt like she was being asked to abandon her beliefs

If she was doing it because she was christian, I don´t see why the word holidays (as in holy days) didn´t appeal to her. It sounds as there´s more than what it´s said in the story.
It doesn´t look as she found it a sin but more as if she was very stubborn. And if I were running a resort I wouldn´t want a stubborn employee.

Happy holidays is exactly the politically correct thing to say,

I don't know if the woman should have been fired for saying merry christmas that is a bit much, but if she knew the rules of where she worked and didn't follow them, well rules are rules,

she did have the choice to say happy holidays and christians would know she meant merry christmas

or she could have not said anything at all.

What's the big deal with Merry Christmas? I think that's insane! As a Christian, God comes first (for me personally anyways.) It's His 'holiday'. Has been for all of time as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong). If anyone has a problem with the real meaning of Christmas than they don't have to celebrate it.
I think that's unfair to her, but very noble of her. Bravo. I would loose my career to this, I would never disrespect God by saying Happy Holidays.
That's just my out look on this as a Christian.
If it's ever illegal to say Merry Christmas, than I will spend the rest of my life in prison. It's unfair to Christians to turn our celebration into a secular ordeal.
Like I said, correct me if Christmas comes from some other belief or situation. Because as far as I know, Christmas was originated to celebrate our Saviors birth.
If you don't like that, than come up with your own holiday so you don't feel left out. Sorry if I sound angry and mean, but this really upsets me.

Saying Happy Holidays would not have killed her. All I can do is roll my eyes as I read these of these "oh woe is me" tales.
Ever since the nonsense of the "Holiday Tree" came out I've called mine a Pagan Tree.

i think that this young lady should not have lost her job because of saying " Merry Christmas" further the dunderhead that fired her should be slapped up beside the head with a shopping bag full of commercial ideas as that seems to be what he likes (commercial). CHRISTMAS isn't about the stores, it's about JESUS CHRIST

I believe that God would care because her heart is in the right place. Even though the holiday is pagan she still accepts the birth of Jesus. So I think God would have worked out a way. As a matter of fact whether she had said merry christmas or not God would have still been there for her. But you know this world is just getting crazier day by day.

Personally I think she did right...that's whats wrong these days...there is too much government trying to be fair to everyone that some of us that believe in Merry CHristmas aren't allowed to get others upset....well if I couldn't say Merry CHristmas where I work I would do the same thing....even if they fired me. I think so much of this is going overboard...if everyone wants everyone else to bend to their beliefs.....then I feel like I am being discriminated against because of my belief that this is truly the season of Merry CHristmas....

Well first of all I dont see the big deal in saying either or for anyone to say either to me. It is a way for someone to wish you good basically. That said, she sounds like a very stubborn person. She knew what her job wanted and she didnt do so, therefore she got fired. I wouldnt have gone about it that way as the economy isnt the greatest but to each their own. If she wanted to put her family at risk that is her business I guess.

The fact that this isnt even when JC was born doesnt seem to bother anyone either.
