Sorry Democrats the Hillary Clinton Calendar did not do so well:-) Although Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin did not make it to the White House, she did become a leader on Amazon.com’s best-seller list. The 2009 calendar of the former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is currently the top item on the Web site’s list of “Office Products and Supplies” where calendar are sold. The calendar can be purchased, capitalism at it best, at; http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/office-products/ref=pd_dp_ts_op_1

Well how is it any different from the Obama plates and Obama coins (or all the ohter merchandise every candidate has out there).I see Obama merchandise commericals just about daily (how long ago was the election over?). Personally I think it is cheezy on all their parts. Especially the commericals. What next politican endorsed shoes. I can see it now Air Obamas. Politics is turning into a big merchandising franchise. I can not really talk.....I bought a Ron Paul shirt and a yard sign from his website during the primary.

Well I think the difference is that everyone's buying up Obama stuff because they think that they are collectors items and want some sort of memorabilia for such a historic election. Palin's stuff is different because only her fanatics are buying it up. And because most republican men secretly want to you-know-what her.

What exactly is a "fanatic"? Is anyone who likes her a fanatic? Personally I did not think she was a perfect candidate (but who is). But as a woman I like the idea of more women in BOTH parties getting noticed more and getting real consideration for higher offices. Hopefully Hilary and Palin have caused parties look at the gender bias and we start seeing more females running for president and VP. I may not like Hilary Clinton but I can appricate what she has done for women in politics.

Kennyrose, Obama's dad is Kenyan. There was never a President in history who was half African or who appeared to be or claimed to be African-American. So whether or not any other president had traces of African heritage, they didn't live an African-American image nor did anyone acknowledge them as African-American. If you don't think that it counts that's your problem, but you sound so ridiculous when you write about this. I just can't understand why you don't see how ridiculous you sound EVERY time you talk about Obama.

Vanity... is useless in politics. She should try acting.

"Vanity... is useless in politics." Would that be the same vanity that leads a man to make his own presidential seal, or the vanity that has a man using Lincoln's bible?

Not all politicians were in beauty pageants. Not all politicians were chosen to be nominated for a position by someone who they barely knew simply on the basis of the image they put out despite how obviously unqualified she was. I'm sorry but I think Sarah Palin is a poor excuse for a politician.

Hmmm. I wonder how many mailing lists for Palin supporters had messages to the effect of "go buy Sarah's calendar." I wonder how many people bought multiple copies. Well, those questions might never be answered. Regardless, Palin's calendar sales don't make her more qualified to be President.

And I didn't say it did, either. I'm just wondering what the point is in making sure we all know how many Sarah Palin calendars were sold.

I'd say it's pretty pointless. Just like the slew of posts reminding everyone over and over again that Sarah Palin did this and said that.

Using your logic, neither does having a plate or coin printed with Obama's face make him more qualified. I'd also venture to say there were plenty of mailing lists from the Obama supporters too. Either way I think both are tacky.

It seems that she is more popular then the Democrats and the Media wanted and in a big way. I will have to look at it. Don't want to buy a calendar - usually get free ones. I wonder if it has scenes of Alaska on it. We were at Alaska for our cruise and really loved it there. (except for the drizzle, of course, but the scenery was wonderful. Sort of like what I used to see around Vancouver but cooler.)

you betcha! she has time to bone up on her weak areas. she had a good training course with McCain. so now she can really make good use of it and rise to the occasion.
