how many of you stayed awake and saw the new year in?

I played my social part in that I went downstairs and sat on the sofa with my parents to watch the new year in, we saw the fireworks going off over the Millennium wheel in London and that was wonderful to see, I did feel a little emotional, I mean it's another year isn't it and time goes by so quickly that I felt 2008 just zoomed past, blink and we missed it. I ended up staying up till 3am in the end, I got stuck into the computer when my parents went to bed, I wasn't tired, and naturally sober I was quite happy to work away on a few projects I have going! Happy 2009 my dear friend.

I was sleeping. I shopped and spent the whole day yesterday with one of my best friends...by the time we got home I was shot! I hardly ever shop and in the last two weeks have shopped several times with my daughter, my sister and now my friend. So I went to bed early last night and missed bringing in the new year!

I was out until after 1. We were at a friends playing cards.

I was sleeping. I had to work today so no staying up late for me! Hubby didn't stay up late either. Guess we needed rest more than toasting in the New year.

I stayed up until 1:30 researching and writing articles for another company. At a minute past midnight, I went over to my hubby, kissed him and said, Happy New Year Hon!"

]I watched the big ball drop in the middle of Times Square at midnight and then played poker on pogo until about 2:00 AM. Personally, I don't think I'm very good at poker, but perhaps I'm wrong, because I doubled my earnings. I'm wondering enough, there were slightly intoxicated individuals present, whom I was able to take advantage of. I had fun though and it wasn't real money, and talked to a few friends, and watched a movie. I'm not sure if it's the economy and people cannot afford to go out this year, but most people I know stayed home with friends. I was definitely awake. I was at a bar 40 miles from home listening to my band's guitar player play his last gig with his old band. So we had good friends, new friends, good music, dancing, lights, confetti, and lots of love. It was wonderful. Happy New Year!

My son went to his friends and called before the new year and said they went to another friends house who had gotten a set of drums and was messing around with them and might not make it home before midnight. My husband was playing with the xbox360, he got a NASCAR 09 game and a steering wheel for it for Christmas. My grandson was on his new laptop here in the living room with us and my daughter and I was watching TV, all the events that were going on in NY. She and I laughed so much last night, we were crying we were laughing so hard. We all had a good time and at midnight we called my son. We stayed up for a while afterwards but not too much later. It was maybe 1:30 before I got to sleep.

We are watching the ball drop in times square last night with the kids. Ran out on the front porch and screamed happy new year!! at the top of our lungs. Actually scared off a deer that was in the neighbor's yard!Stayed up 1/2 hour later and then hit the hay!
