Do you think digital camera has made us careless while shooting?

I think, digital photography is a great invention and no way I am anti. As a matter of fact, my nieces are getting conversant at a young age about the art of photography which I guess would not be the case otherwise. Its a great fun to get the result the moment they say cheese. I am sure with proper guidance they can learn the intricacies of it all. Physical photo is a beautiful thing and I feel real photographers still prefer that.

But my point is, I think the flexibility in a digital camera should not be misused and we must lose our fine touch while shooting. We are the fast paced generation today and this probably has clicked with the digi cam as well. The kids specially should know the value of shots, value of stuffs in life.

So you are a graphic artist! Anything is possible for you guys. lol.. You can a make a drab, blurred pic to a master piece - lucky you! And thanks for agreeing on the careless part. No reason indeed to say cheese!

I really appreciate. Its good to know that you still take care before shots which most like me do not. They shoot randomly and later delete and retain the best among the mediocres. I am pro digital camera and I think it has given us a great opportunity to be conversant with the art of photography. I only wish that we can improve on it.

It's good that you mentioned the anticipation of getting to see those positives! I still remember, how great fun it used to be to get the developed rolls! Full of apprehensions and anticipations and reliving the moments when we all are made to stand to give fake smiles. Awwwwh...Silly but sweet!

Silly smiles, all decked up waiting patiently while the person gets every thing set and clicks away. Then pester them to see the snaps. Dissapointed long faces when they did not come too well. Come to think of it not only were we so careful while taking the shots, we really valued them, preserved them and even today they bring about a sense of nostalgia.
While the digital camera is great in terms of doing things super speed and so on, a natural untouched shot is still the best. It's difficult to very sure about the orginality of some shots today thanks to the touch up and changes done on the computer later.

That reminds me, I still weep on the parting with some black and white photos of family. It feels nostalgic and so attached still! Don't you feel that today's abundance, getting the shots easy and then seen instantaneously somehow dilutes the love of the art.
Having said this, contemporary and modern is something which gets recognition later when it gets old.

Yes, its exactly the way i feel about the old shots especially the black and white ones. I have some of my mom and know what you mean about the emotion behind them.

Art is appreciated more when we know the effort behind it like in the case of the good old fashioned photography. It's like furniture making, embroidery,stitching....When we know the effort and the care taken behind the preparation, its value is enhanced.

Art is appreciated for the hard work and effort behind and we respect it even more. The black and white photographs are just lovely! I love them!

I really appreciate your point of view which is very well mine as well. Digital camera is a boon most certainly and I am amazed to find out how it has incorporated the love of photography even to ordinary people like me. Sometimes, I am just a little concerned about the way I take it. Very carefreely which is good in a way but after shooting even 15-20 shots on the same locale I am still left with an insatiable feeling. The care and technicalities get lost somewhere for you are always kinda relaxed.

Ye mimpi. So true. I too take too many shots of the smae and then really get irritated sometimes sorting the best one out for every other event or thing's pic. In a way, are we abusing the facitlity? Oh! I hope not.

That's another point you have raised. We humans have a tendency to abuse anything and everything which is easily available, abundant and we can afford to. And this probably is the reason we are little careless about the same.

I agree totally. while digital camera is a boon but it certainly has made us little careless. I cannot single out a picture from 15-20 shots! Bottomline being i did not click them with proper care! That's so sad at the end of the day. Another aspect that scares me is the fact that the kids today are operating this without any care and the instant thing is like 2 minutes noodles! Most kids today do not care about the nuances, intricacies and love the art!

Yes digital camera has given us an opportunity to capture all the good moments, as many times we want to. Certainly a boon for all.

A bad shot in the old camera and you have to pay for it. e just cannot afford to make costly mistakes. As a result we are extra careful, isn't it? And our parents were happier with lesser questions to face.

Digital camera is certainly a boon and I am no way trying to negate that. However, I sometimes feel that it has made me little careless. Now I can choose from hordes of shots. Even though its a bliss to choose the best but the real photographs are taken with utmost care and sincerity. Coming to think about the extra endeavour and effort makes it very close to heart.

You can still take best shots with Digital camera, provided when you use it, you use it with due care and full alertness (you may assume that you are handling the old analogue camera....LOL! and each photo counts). It depends upon us how attentively we are clicking a particular shot or photograph. I believe that good photography requires good amount of patience and skills.

Even though I am talking about layperson here I quite agree with you. It may be just me but I do feel digital camera has certainly made me laid back. I am glad that it hardly matters and you take the both similarly.

Yes, digital camera would have given you the liberty to laid back, when you are handling it and it is in fact one of its positive features.
Whenever I am doing photography, I try to do it with full concentration and attention and sees that photographs come out good.
