Michelle Obama has issued a statement about Ty's newest dolls for their TyGirlz Collection, Sweet Sasha and Marvelous Malia. The plush pair are named after her and President Barack Obama's daughters, Sasha, 7, and Malia, 10.
"We believe it is inappropriate to use young, private citizens for marketing purposes,"
Michelle Obamas spokes person said
Do you agree?

Well, apparently they didn't have permission to do so and that would trouble me as a parent, too. How can you make a doll of a person without getting their permission? That seems odd.

I agree with this also. They will do anything in the world to make a buck or two. They should have made sure it would be alright first.

yes, I completely agree. I don't see why everyone is making such a fuss about these girls. Nobody made near as much fuss about any other child previously in the white house, except for the Bush twins partying so much.

I think the dolls are cute but Michelle Obama is completely right that this is an exploitation of her daughters and she was right to speak out against Ty.

Just think though of all the little girls who would love a doll like that. But I can see yours and her point. It would cause a public stir that they would rather not endure.

I would have said "no" as well. Mrs. Obama made a good decision. She did not fall into the temptation of having a doll or a toy or a game to make her children more famous. It is not right to cash in and make yourself more famous.
