Dangerous diplomacy?  

I hav the fear that the things he is going to do is going to bring us to another attack like the 911 or worse. I don't belive he has the experience to deal with these people and they see him as a weak person that they can conquer. We can tell these people that we are not their enemy but I don't think that they understand that or want to understand it. Their intents against the usa will never end and he is not going to be the one miracle that does end it. Only time will tell but I agree what he is doing is just pushing an issue that he will regret in the future. He seems to think talking is the way to settle many of the problems with the middle east, these people are interested in talking.

I think we have to try something different. Clearly what has been done so far has not been workign. I think we need to have a change in policy and let these Middle Eastern nations know that we are not out to get them and that they should not be out to get us. I applaud the change in policy and if we prove we are not hostile, hopefully they will not be hostile to us.

I think we have learned by now that all US relations in the middle east are tricky. I think we have also learned by now that brute force is the wrong method of approach. I dont think that this statemnt makes Obama sound like a weak leader at all - I think it makes him sound like a leader who is willing to listen and negotiate. That is the leader America as a nation wants now. We have sown the seeds of war, and last November America resoundingly voted for an end to this kind of "diplomacy".

Remember - and this is important. That America is NOT at war with Islam.

We are at war with Muslim extreemists - terrorists. There is nothing wrong with extending this olive branch to the peace loving Muslims of the world. In fact it is a very thoughtful strategy, and the first step to getting them in tow with us as we battle the terrorists who infect thier religion, and commit evil in the name of Islam.

I think you are right, you can never engage terrorists as they'll think that these gestures as signs of weakness. The Iranian president must be the happiest person and it is very surprising that he is keeping quiet now. Of all the people Mr.Obama must be very careful with that man in Tehran.

Now Obama's true nature comes out and those sites that said he was pro Muslim was right, but they had to elect him anyway. What he is doing is dangerous. These Arabic nations want everyone to become Muslims and will use force to get their ends and he wants to talk nicely to them?
You know "those who fail to listen to history" I wonder if he was looking out the window when he was learning about the prelude to World War II, Anthony Eden and appeasement and how it did not work.
But I guess he felt since he is not English or German, it does not apply to him.

Having steadied Barack Obama's back ground for one year I maintain what I said during the campaine and took a lot of heat over from Obama supporters at this site.

Obama has his b@@'s in a very tight spot if the American knew he was a Muslin he would not been elected president of the United States, this is why I think he had all his persoanl records sealed before he left Harvard law school because for year's he had been planning his climb to power in the United states.

I also believe this is why he has fought for two years to keep his vault birth certificate sealed away from the questioning American people in regard to his citizenship because he actually is of the Islam faith and a Muslim.
Because Obaam has his vault birth certificate under seal I can not prove this,but I do know people that have nothing to hide simply do not hide thing's.

I see Obama now in the cross hairs he has made the public statement he will go to Bin Laden's cave and kill him, as well he has said he will presume the enemy of the united States,he has allowed bombing in Pakistan just a few day's ago that killed terrorist high level leaders and civilians as well.

To me it is a silly joke going on that station and saying I'm not your enemy when he just patted the United States on the back for killing 21 terrorist some high level jihad leaders.

Obams as I see it is caught in a web of his own making,as the new president of the United States he can not openly praise the people of his father,step father and cousin Raul Odingo and remain our president for very long.

The angry Muslin's are not happy he turn on his father and step father and cousin people "MUSLIMS" for his self gain,These people hated George W.Bush but they did not fool with him after Sept 11,2001,and they did respect him inspire of their blind hate.

I see it with Barck Obama they bitterly hate him and will not what so ever respect him because in their eye's he is a "traitor" and in their belief system this act is worthy of death,as he is a man with out HONOR!!!!

Barack Obama has played his birth certificate hide and seek game with the American people for a long time and still is matter a fact,The Muslim's supported and backed him during his campaign,in fact there is a lot of suspicion millions was funneled into his campaign by Muslims in the middle east,Barack Obama for his fame and power has turned his back on them,there is grave danger ahead!!!

By putting Barack obama in office it actually upped our chances of being hit again here on our soil,I think we are set up for a dammed hard hit,it is not if but >>>>>> When.

I don't know really. They say to befriend the enemy. I think someone has to take a first step towards peace. right? We sure are not going to find peace thru fighting. I doubt it can possibly make them hate us more. Perhaps some might even come to realize we aren't so bad/

No, I don't think it is "dangerous," I think it is going to show to be a very positive step toward preventing terrorist attacks to the United States. It is in no way like being friendly to someone with a gun pointed at your head. These countries are not our enemies and there is no reason why they should be. Should all primarily black countries be enemies of the United States because of the KKK? That is completely ridiculous ideology.

I heard a lot about Obama, here on mylot, when he was the president-elect. Some called him a Muslim at heart while others labelled him as the antichrist. He is definitely going to be an interesting person to watch, someone not conforming to the standard lines we have seen till now. If he has chosen an Arabic channel, maybe he is trying to reach out to the people in the Arabic world. One thing we must understand is that we will never be able to defeat terrorism if we don’t have the common people on our sides. It’s the common people that give shelter, food, information and passage to these terrorists, mainly because they have been brainwashed to do so. Until and unless we get these people into our folds, this battle against terrorism cannot be won by the gun alone.

Its been long the rage over islam ceased to exist.....what we all want is peace and it could not have been better laid out ......its another bold step made by MR Obama and the intent is being shown clearly...that US is not against the islam and hope it will never be......
