Do you put chips on your sandwiches? I got my son into doing it. I have always liked chips on my sandwiches, but he loves it. I swear every time I give him a sandwich he adds chips to it. I guess she likes the extra crunch it give the sandwich. Do you like them on your sandwich?

I thought I was the odd person who liked to put chips on my sandwiches. Generally I don't have the chips handy, but when I do, I might put them on. Usually it might be because I got too much of a condiment on it and want to tone it down a bit. I think I started doing this when I was in grade school. I never met anyone else who liked it.

I like chips on a corned beef sandwich but there is a local place called Primanti Brothers that puts fries on their sandwiches. I thought it was odd until I had one. Their sandwiches are huge to start with but when they add the fries they are colossal in size. I asked them to put chips on my sandwich one time and they did - only their version was the little bits of fries that were left in the drip tray. It was hysterical and everyone got a good laugh but I learned the hard way to never ask for chips on my sandwich there!

Yes, I love it, lilybug. I too love the extra crunch it gives to the sandwich. I remember thinking a friend of mine was odd for putting chips on her sandwhich. But then I tried it one day and have done it ever since.

I smiled when I read your post as it brought back so many memories of childhood. In the U.K. we call french fries chips. so putting hot french fries between two slices of bread and butter is called a 'Chip Butty'. I knew that would make you smile.
I do love your chips in a sandwich as it just makes it extra special. Really munchy and good. Oh, by the way we call your chips crisps!

Yes! I love chips on my sandwich. I like frito's. Do you remember the movie: The Breakfast Club. When, the one girl in the back put cereal on her sandwich? It was so funny! You could hear her crunching! All the other teen's turned around to stare at her. It was classic. I liked the old movie's like that! If you like chips on your sandwich you might want to try cereal and see what happens. Would your son like that or not?

I prefer to eat them separate. I don't like them on the sandwich.

I used to do it when I was a kid. I like the taste that you get when you eat chips and a sandwich together. I think they add an extra touch to each other so usually I like to take a bite of my sandwich and then eat a chip.

I love to eat potato chips with my sandwich, but not on it. My chips go on the side or stay in the bag or bowl.

Some sandwiches I do like chips on, like bologna. But some sandwiches I don't. It all depends.

I used to put chips on my sandwiches, I have not done it in quite some time though. I do not know what it is about putting the chips on the sandwich, but it does give the sandwich extra flavor and crunch. I used to like the chips with the ridges, they are nice and sturdy. UMMMM, maybe the next sandwich I make I will add a few chips to it.

I love chips as much as anybody (I grew up near the UTZ potato chip plant). But I have to have them on the side, not on the sandwich. It just seems gross and messy to me. I'm afraid it would interfere with the tastes of the condiments.

We really never grew up doing that. I guess my mom had never done it, and she made most of our food when we were kids. My dad might have done that a sandwich at Subway once or twice, but I never was too tempted to try it. But I did try once and it wasn't half bad. I like to do my potato chips in mustard, and that gets me a lot of weird looks.

I use to do it when I was a kid - loved them. I don't think my son has ever tried chips with his sandwiches?!?

I don't think I've ever done this, though it's possible that I did so when I was younger. I just don't remember. LOL One thing I've done though is put french fries on my burger, though only from McDonald's. It makes the burger or cheeseburger much more tastier this way.
It's funny, my husband thought it was odd when I showed him the burger/fries thing, but now he does it too sometimes. I guess he finds it tasty too.

I've really only tried to this with one type of sandwich, the sloppy joe. I started doing this when I was in grade school and we had hot lunch once a month with sloppy koes and potato chips. I think it's not only the crunch that adds a little something, but also the salt from the chips. I'm not too big to say that I still put chips on my sloppy joes today.
Do you put chips on all your sandwiches or just certain ones? Potato chips or any other chips?
