Tonight we went out with some friends for dinner and when the other couple droppped us off at home I got out of the car and leaned over to give my husband a big ol' smooch! OH!!! And the sparks were flyin'!!!! I know if my eyes hadn't been closed I'd have seen the spark. We both jumped back and grabbed our upper lips, wondering if they were sizzled off! Our friend who was still in the car asked if we were ok because he actually HEARD the spark!
Now, I know it's very dry lately with the cold weather, and we do get the static electricity when we smooch, but this was actually painful!
How's the static electricity around your place?

Hi rainy my friend. I did not know that your love was so electrifying. Wow no wonder you have been married so long. If your love is not electrifying then you must be a superhero. I know in my book you are a super hero.

Nothing like new love to make sparks fly. I do miss the new love/lust feeling.

We have had this happen, but not this year. I think part of the reason is the temp in our house is under 60, so it does not get as dry in here. Plus we hardly ever see each other so we don't get in a lot of kissing.

Well, we wont be seeing much of each other for the next 2 months... I'll be working long hours until after April 15th. We'll just have to be careful when we do see each other until it dampens up a bit.

Ouch what a painful smooch. The car does tend to be the place I get shocked the most by static electricity, though it has been awhile since I've been shocked closing the door of my car and I can't say that I have been shocked my giving someone a smooch.

Lately we have had quite a few shocking smooches, but this one was painful! I think the spark actaully lit up the street! Well, no more smoochin' tonight, that's for sure!

I get little sparks throughout the house, but this one last night was a doozie! He just kissed me goodbye and we're both happy it wasn't a shocking experience again :)

I have never heard of that happening before goodness it must be hot dry and uncomfortable. No chance of that happening in England more likely to drown or et frost bite since our winter has been so cold.No chance of static round here ,hot water bottle at the ready.!!!!!!

hahahahah!!! During the summer it's pretty darned humid here so this only happens during the winter. And I don't remember it being this bad in a LONG time :)

Wow, talk about a new definition of creating a spark in your relationship! Ouch! I cannot even imagine what that was like! It's almost funny except for the part where you say it was painful. Good thing you weren't near anything dangerous! The resaon they warn about cell phones at gas stations is that supposedly a spark could set off a fire. I remember one winter the carpet in my car would cause the static to build so that every time I touched the car getting out I got a shock! Drove me nuts! If they can make anti static stuff for computers and hairbrushes they should be able to do it for our shoes and cars!

They do have signs at gas stations that say not to get in and out of the car while you're waiting for the tank to fill up because the static will cause sparks around the gas. I always stay outside, even when it's really cold. I really don't want to see what a spark can do at a gas station.

I guess that means you still have a spark in your marriage. I have not noticed an excessive amount of static here.

Every day when I get home and go to change, I hit the light switch in the bedroom and KNOW I'm going to get shocked. I try to "ground" myself beforehand but it doesn't work.

We sure weren't expecting this! It had rained/snowed earlier so I figure it wasn't that dry out - BOY WAS I WRONG!!!

hi reinydawn wow that was some kiss keeping the sparks going in your marriage bu
t I would bet it was a painful zap too.when we lived in Tustin in the winter time I was always getting shocked and sometimes someone would come to my door and we would shake hands and the other person went ouch really loud.I had shocked her without thinking. Here in Garden Grove we often get sea breezes from the Pacific ocean
six miles away and I rarely get a doorknob shock here. thank goodness for
that.P lus at sun down looking west towards the ocean we w ee the most beautiful
sunsets. Its even prettier down on the Newport Beach. I have alot of static electricity in my body as its stops ordinary watches. I can wear them an hour or two and they all stop.So now i wear a digital watch.

I'm always very electrical - i've taken to wearing an antistatic wrist band which has helped alot.
When i was in the states in January My boyfriend and i learned really quick not to kiss near or in the truck because everytime we did we got a real painful zap on the nose or lips.

The little sparks are no big deal, but I still remember this one - it was pretty bad... We still take our chances though :)
