It's an Arboreal Conspiracy |
| |
| A couple of weeks ago I donned by thick plaid shirt. My steel capped boots. Put on my hard hat, eye protectors and ear defenders. Grabbing my trusty saw I went and felled a cherry tree in my back garden which had started to threaten the fence with my neighbour. From the ground it looked quite small. So away I went, lopping off branches until at last the trunk was bare and then I sawed and T...I...M...B...E...R! Once on the ground it became huge. I have sawn and hacked and ground. Still the darn tree is there. I will not be beaten, but I am starting to feel that this is some kind of conspiracy to serve me right for chopping it down in the first place. Are the trees fighting back? I'm a lumberjack and I'm NOT OK! | | | | | |

| | Dear Monte. Leave the damn trees and stick to entertaining the masses. However, now that you have put it down, if you want to get rid of the stump the truely green way, build a small electrified fence around the stump and add two youngish pigs to the inside of your little fenced off area. Pigs are actually more industrious than most people think. In short order, these swine will have either eaten the stump or they will have nussled around it until they have loosed it from the soil so that it will be much easier to dispose of. And you have had them add fertilizer to the by now much loosed soil. Now give the little bugger back and history the fence. Yard renovations can be lots less work. | | | | | | |

| | LOL. It's not the stump that's bothering me Mike. But the trunk, branches etc that no matter how I attack them, just don't want to go away. I like the idea of a piggy or two though. Problem is that The Boss would never let me eat them. | | | |

| | You have all the fixings for a great bon fire Steve. And I don't think the boss is against you eating them as much as she is against you cleaning them out there. If you stack that wood now though, by fall you will have the wood you need to have a really good pig roast outside. | | | |

| | I do have a fireplace - three in fact. I do intend to keep some of the main wood for burning, but it's the smaller stuff that taking the time. My neighbour does have a wood burner so I guess that I could offer him some if I get fed up. Good idea. | | | |

| | I have talked to my plants before Jen. Prince Charles, who is a member of our Royal Family regularly talks to his plants and trees and says that they respond very positively. On another subject. Whenever I go to read "Ailsa" now, my virus checker tells me that Authspot.com is a suspect site! | | | |

| | My computer doesn't say anything. You can google search, to check what others say. I hope you can write a sequel to Ailsa. Your link is still posted in my blog. Good luck, may you find the muse soon. Take care. | | | |

| | It was an ornamental cherry. I have lots of them and they re mostly where I don't want them to be. Like weeds, which are just flowers in the wrong place. They have spiky ends too that will take your eye out if they can! It was starting to push the fence down and grow over his fence and conservatory. | | | |

| | As I am a bit of a Python fan I couldn't help but comment! Yes I started a discussion about it a while ago asking if anyone new of an effective way of killing it off as you can see, I have been unsuccessful. I do like fuscia and Ihave another one but this one is right in the way where the boys play and attracts lots of bees in the summer! I have a lovely small statue holding a lamp waiting to go in it's place! | | | |
