Sad news, Francis M died today. The Master rapper is gone. |
|
I just heard from the news today, Francis M succumbed to leukemia at 12 noon today. That is so sad. Francis M is such a big influence in the Rap and Music industry in the Philippines. Many young people look up to him and it is such a tragedy that his life ended at the age of 44.
I still remember how I, as a young girl, did my best to memorize "Mga Kababayan Ko", a truly inspiring and patriotic song. I also love his other songs like Cold Summer Nights. How about you, how did the master rapper's music influence your life?

1. kissieme (427) | 10 months ago | HI rakittera, I heard about that too when I was about to get to work an hour ago. I thought it was just a rumor... Is it really true?
I love Francis M.'s songs since I was a kid especially Kaleidoscope world... He's been like a good example of a father like my own dad.In his shows, he doesn't get embarrass in showing how he loves his family... He's one of the artists I know who really used his talent to show the world that Filipinos are talented and not to be messed with... T_T waaaaaaaaaaaah I feel sad about this... T_T

rakittera (444) | 10 months ago | Sadly, this report is confirmed. Apparently, he was scheduled for blood transfusion a few days ago but they could not push through with the transfusion coz he caught pneumonia. The pneumonia killed him, a complication in his cancer.

2. modstar (4959) | 10 months ago | Your discussion came to me as a shock! I still can't believe it. I thought he's still fighting for it. Francis Magalona has been my earliest influence in music back when i was still into pinoy rap. Now i'm into metal. It was also from Francis where i experienced my first attendance in a concert. The news just came too fast!

rakittera (444) | 10 months ago | Everbody seems to be in shock. Vic Sotto announced it in Eat Bulaga and you could see that the hosts were fighting back their tears. Even Willie Revillame expressed sympathy over his show Wowowee as soon as he heard the news.

6. roysville (266) | 10 months ago | It's really is a sad news, I was shocked when they announced it in Eat Bulaga today. I may not know him personally, but having grown up in the Bagets era I somehow feel connected to him. Being an aspiring songwriter, I also look up to him for his great talent in writing.
He is a big loss to the music industry, and to the whole country as well.

8. bubbletush (745) | 10 months ago | This is really sad. I have been following his multiply account (although it has been sometime since it was last updated) and I thought he was having a good fight with leukemia.

rakittera (444) | 10 months ago | Yeah. His last blog entry was in January and in that blog, he was asking for prayers since he was to undergo his 4th chemo session. I think before he died, he was scheduled for already his 5th chemo session. If he didn't catch pneumonia, he would have survived that chemo session too. He is a fighter, you can read it from his multiply account: http://francismagalona.multiply.com

9. the_dutchess (1500) | 10 months ago | I actually heard the news about it in Eat Bulaga and it really came as a shock. I feel sorry for Eat Bulaga's hosts that they have to continue their show today and keep those smiling faces up while deep inside them is mourning for his death. I thought Francis M. was doing better 'cause I don't know how long ago it was but the last time I saw him in TV, he was like very cheerful and really fighting for it. Well, what could we say but this is life, all things go to an end and we have no choice but to move on. I wish Francis M's family well and I hope that things will be better for them soon and they'll find the courage through God to move forward.

|
rakittera (444) | 10 months ago | I agree. I really feel for the hosts of Eat Bulaga too. You can just see that their eyes are welling and are fighting back tears. That must have been really hard. But, as they say, the show must go on.

10. jaymeeliz (245) | 10 months ago | I was really shocked when I heard the news from Williie Revillame of Wowowee. Francis has a great talent, and great love of our country. As a child, I really admired his songs and sang whenever I saw his commercial. He seems to be a very kind hearted and sincere person and I think that is what separates him from the rest...Although he lived a full life, he is still a great loss for us Filipinos. I hope we all remember him in our hearts.
