Do you like it when people ask your age? |
|
How old are you? 28. Father with 2 sons: Oh gosh, you are in the prime of your life. So young, just like a baby.
I hate it when people comment on my age this way. 28 is certainly not young in my opinion. I feel as old as a wrinkled potato and I hate people reminding me of it.
How old are you? 28. 18 yr old teenager: Geez, I am so sorry! Uncle, I didn't mean to probe... I just thought you might want to do soccer one of these days but... guess you are too old for it.
Oh thank you kiddie. I have been 18 yr old before so I don't need you to remind me of the stage you are currently at.
Either way my age is perceived (I have yet to come across a response that says it is the perfect age for whatever), I would rather the question be not asked in the first place. It also irks me when people like to ask me my age (whether deliberately or otherwise) during my birthday meals. Then they will start to try calculate it out l-o-u-d when I try to shrug it off. Somehow, some people just don't get it.
So, do you like it when people ask you your age? A resounding YES!? A sombre no? Do you desperately try to raise the question yourself? Do you pretend your ears are stuck? What is your thought on people asking you your age?

41. cream97 (9087) | 10 months ago | Well, it really does not bother me that much. If they ask my age and then turn around and tell me that I look too old for my age, which I don't . Then I may be offended. But, if they just generally ask a question just to know, then I may not get offended. It just depends on how the ask me. I also don't really like it when others call me baby. I guess a lot of older people think that I am a little girl which I am not. I am 30 years old. I may not look my age, but I am a grown up.

42. xParanoiax (4937) | 10 months ago | Since I'm still a teenager I get the creepy, "Well, you're so mature for your age" (which is true, but always sounds creepy coming from people)...or the, "Oh hush, you're too young to know anything."
Annoying, yeah. I prefer people to ignore my age, because I don't feel that it's really relevant to most conservations.
I always answer casually, as if it doesn't matter, though...'cause if you make a big deal about it, more people'll ask...so I just act normal and ignore my annoyance best I can. People don't help, sometimes.

43. laydee (3977) | 10 months ago | I don't really take offense of my age when someone asks. I don't seem to mind that I'm older now than before. I think it has to do with the fact that I have accepted that sooner or later we do grow older.
But of course, I'm no hypocrite, I'm afraid of wrinkles, I'm afraid of old age marks and all. This is why I try not to frown, I try to laugh a alot in order that lines wouldn't be motivated to grow even faster. Hahaha...
You know what, I guess this is so because people tend to judge my age a little younger. Perhaps it's because I'm a chubby girl. No one has ever judged my age to be older though. Which is a fine achievement for someone who's female, I guess. But I'm realizing now that even men are afraid to grow older. hehehe..

lordwarwizard (10430) | 10 months ago | Wow that's... so you try to laugh before it helps to previous old age marks? Wow... does it really work?

laydee (3977) | 10 months ago | I think so, my mom taught me that, she said that it was in her aerobics class that they were told that constant face expressions would soon create lines, that's why it's good to exercise your face too and keep different expressions on a daily basis so that face muscles would be firm and to keep the lines away. The best thing to do is actually laugh and express yourself more. Stay away from frowning.
But then, there are laugh lines too. hehehee

lordwarwizard (10430) | 10 months ago | Typo there... because not before lol.
I was once taught a exercise that resembles trying to move your mouth in all directions one direction after another. Supposedly it relaxes the facial muscles.

49. MizzLadyB08 (838) | 10 months ago | It really do not bother me. I just turned 30 years old in February and I have people asking me all the time how old I am. I tell them I am 30 and they look at me like I just told them something very shocking. Their response is you do not look like you should be 30. Some people think that I am still in my early 20's, I am like you I feel my age but people just can not get to grips that I am 30.
