What Is Your Opinion On School Uniforms?

at my school we have to wear uniforms too, but in my class no one wears them. i always thought that they are a bad idea, i never wanted them, so I hardley weared it:))

I think they`re fabulous for the reasons you state...drinking fountains become a great hangout, and the skirts are shorter than the school would normally allow if you purchased them yourselves:) Also, they make summertime an even better leg-watching time for pubescent males. I think all schools should consider this.

how are you?yeah we aslo had a uniform at our time .we had a white shirt and nevy blue skirt and black shoes and white socks,in winters we had nevy blue blazer and grey skirt.

When I was in Catholic School I had to wear one. I hated it big time.

However, as an adult with 3 children, I would prefer there was a uniform policy at their schools.

This way they don't have to waste time in the morning trying to figure out what to wear.

This way all students are the same. No one is any better than the other.

Less distracting for the kids. They can concentrate on their lessons instead of who is better dressed or worried about what to wear to impress the other students.

i was always against uniforms.. my highschool back in romania tried to set a rule... uniform only.. only half a school did it, the rest came in as always, with what they liked. they gave up on the idea. students won!

I think it would be good for students to all wear the same thing when going to school..Not all kids abuse the school dress codes..(whatever they are.. some stricter than others) this way the girls won't be showing their belly buttons and their rear-ends.... and the boys won't be wearing their pants down to their knees with their underwear hanging out.

I never had to wear uniforms & I actually use to think it was just a stupid idea to make kids wear them, but I guess it has it's pros & cons.

If my kids schools said they had to wear uniforms, I wouldn't be to upset, it would actually save us more money in the long run! LOL!

I think if all schools go to uniforms, the kids should be allowed to wear what they want on picture days & maybe one day a week wear their own style at least...

I feel kids need their own style.

I sure hope if all schools go uniform that they give the kids more options & spice the colors up some... uniforms are so ... blah... at times...

ya know some times it seemed as it the uniforms were way too expensive to where it was hard on poorer families.. i mean they would have to buy those on top of regular clothes and its not like the kids will wear them outside of school.. i think its stupid and insulting to our intelligence.. if some one is in a gang or wants to bully some one THEY WILL!

I never attended a school that had a dress code policy of uniforms. However, I don't think that they would be quite as bad if each student was allowed to personalize their uniform. I don't mean shredding it or dying it, but generally accessorizing it. After wearing a uniform for work purposes, I'll admit that I really prefer the individuality of being able to choose what you wear. The colors for my school were blue and white though we did have class colors and in that case, the color for my group was red.

During my younger years, there were no school uniform policies for public school so the principle was just happy if I can make it through the school day with me keeping either my pants or shirt on. I've always been partial to the Catholic school girl uniforms.
