Colon cleansing?

Hi there... I don't know about a colon cleansing, but I've been on a lemon detox several times and what can I say: - It is a tuff "diet" but it really helps the body.

I did the detox thing...geez, when was it... I just remember the doctor saying it would take a week for the detoxification process to flush all the bad stuff from my system. I want to say this year, like in the past six months.

For me i do a colon cleanse every 4 months, the brand that i use is renew life. They say that all disease starts in the colon, so why not keep it cleaned out. I have also added a product called salba to my diet, because it has a lot of fiber in it, and it helps keep me regular.

I can't tell you where I have done all my reading...as it has been a lot, a year ago last September 23, I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis! It was suggested by persons, NOT the Dr. that colon cleansing would be a good thing. I spent the better part of 5 months researching it on the Net, it was about 50% leaning towards doing it (and then read the small print) the article was written by the companies producing the "cleansers." So, I stayed away from the net, and researched libraries/and TV. Dr. "Oz" a regular on Oprah, and the Doctor's Show by Dr. Phil also say it is a huge hype! My research concurs. And to me, if it were true, it would save me pain/grief! A Naturopath..Dr. Malthouse in Victoria, B.C., suggests that a 48 hour clear fluid fast, followed by a 48 hour Juice fast,such as V-8, and all fruits, is a very effective detox/cleanse, so I am convinced this is just another hype for your dollar. But it is your dollar...and today, they are few and far between! For a person with Diverticulitis, colon cleansing is a good thing, so I am just saying...NOT for me! Cheers!

I'm really not sure if it's nonsense or not, I wonder myself as I'm older now, I am more concerned about my health. I have been eating more healthier foods that helps the colon. I'm very skeptical about taking drugs, you can hear some of those commercials telling you about side effects, I think to myself, why take medicine for one problem and other problems start, to me it doesn't make sense.

I also think that these drugs they advertise, some of them can wined up with law suits; you know the announcements you hear from time to time saying that if you have taken this certain drug etc, to please contact so and so law offices - now the lawyers are making bucks from it......I don't know, I just don't trust it.

Those infomercials are on for just one thing and that is to part you from your money. If you think you need a colon cleansing talk to your Dr. our intestines are full of good bacteria and those colon cleansing can upset that balance and could do more harm than good. If you are regular with the bms than that is keeping your colon clean. There is a lot of good sounding garbage out there so one needs to be careful.

Pure nonsense. You do not need it. If you eat properly you do not need it. If you want to do it, you can fast on your own. Many people do. Just make sure you get plenty of fiber and fluids and you will be fine.

it is pure hype. The only thing that will get cleaned out enough to make a difference is your wallet. I just read about it in a magazine a few weeks ago. Start eating healthier. More fruits, more veggies, more water. Less processed food and you will be better off.

Older men die every day from colon cancer. That doesn't quite hold true for women. But, it is a fact that we must keep our colon cleansed. As well as our upper and lower intestines. Health is all really about digestion. When we don't digest properly the foods we eat, we end up getting very sick. Food, for what it is worth, can be a drug. Without it, we die. With it, we move on to better things. Too much of it, and we die again. The key to colon cancer may never be found, though much effort has been directed towards doing just that.

I'm not a doctor, and only those concerned with biology can actually answer this question. Do I think that these infomercials are pure nonsense? Absolutely! Why? Because they are only looking for money, and money is in short supply. Hold on to every last dollar. Don't give your personal information to anyone. Stay home. Oh, I know that you need your colon cleansed, but I also know that you need to have your money safely tucked away underneath your mattress. I've known people very close to me at the time that went through the whole detox thing, and ended up dying of cancer. It's a horrible way to die - that I admit. The best way to clean your colon is to back up to a water hose, turn the faucet on full speed, and let it go right up your anus, and call it good. It won't be pleasant, but I guess it beats the alternative.

I want to give credit to everyone working to solve these messy issues of colon cancer, prostrate cancer, and ovarian cancer. I know they have given every last sinew and ounce of energy to find a cure. We must get there. Life is really much greater than the news of the latest disease, but we must have those who toil in the health field. I've watched people die of lung cancer, who never smoke a day in their life. I've watched those die of cancer that never did anything but live for God. It's horrible, and it must be cured. Try burying someone who you knew for sure was a good and honorable man or woman. i don't know about the detox kinds of colon cleansing but i have had colonic irrigation and thats certainly helped me. i have tendency to IBS like symptoms as a side effect of medication and i find a colonic is helpful.
