... not going to make it ever? Do you mean not ever going to support ourself financially by selling the art or craft? Myself, I do my art for purely selfish reasons..... I have something I want to express through it. If I end up making money from it that would be exciting, but I don't need to believe others think I'm good in order to keep at it. I could probably make a small living if I put more effort towards my pottery, but then I worry that it would lose its appeal for me. Painting on the other hand... I'm not very good and don't think all the lessons in the world would help me much, but I do it because I love it.

My simple answer to that is that I never say never, so yes, I will try and try again until I get the hang of it. As it happens, I'm quite artistic, so I don't often have trouble, but I'm not one to give up even if I come up against a brick wall time after time. Brightest Blessings my friend.

I was never good at free hand drawing and art Bala. And no matter how much i get the enthusiasm to sit and draw, i'm never happy at the results, thinkin gthat i'd be never good at it. Yet every now and then, i'd get the urge to try again. Why ?.........

Lol some people are right-side brains (maths, sciences etc etc) others are left-side (art, music etc etc) (i hope i got the sides right) in some cases the two sides blur -but majority of the time one side holds dominance over the brain thos ways, i.e. you find people who are incredibly good at english either are bad at maths, or simply don't like numbers much. (of course there are always exceptions) But i have to say.. the reason you feel the urge to draw is the artist spirit inside of you =P . Whether you think you're good or bad keep on drawing! Lol beauty and skill is in the eye of the beholder Happy myotting

Like writing books? No I have finally given up the possibility of ever getting any of my works published, right from school ages into my twenties I was always writing books, I loved writing, had a passion for it, but they were always personal to me and I didn't think they were up to the standard expected so I never pursued down the publishing road, I would love to see my name of a popular book title, but sadly it will never be so my friend. I have been creative and I have a good imagination but enough to make it pay or be professional.

Painting - It is one of the crafts that always gives you the complete satisfaction and a sense of achievement.
Well practice do make perfection.Drawing is one art that you can learn and improve. I do paint well and so does my daughter. She has inherited the skill from me.And I am helping her honing it.I have uploaded one of my paintings for you to have a look Riya.

I have tried crafts in the past that were impossible for me to figure out. I now work on only items made with plastic canvas and yarn. They always turn out just great. Have sold several items at craft fairs and have made several Sesame Street items for our grandkids. It's been a fun and interesting hobby. I would "add an image" but am not using my home computer.

I have better things to do Bala and I would never do such a thing..Instead of persisting with something I HAVE to struggle for no real self satisfaction or any benefit at all, I would prefer to either work on my strengths or something that really interests me.I would know very fast that I have no aptitude in something I would straightaway refrain from taking it up.Then there is no question of 'still trying.'

I'm not doing any particular craft at the moment (apart from writing) - but I think the key to anything is whether you love doing it or not. If you love painting, it doesn't matter whether you are good at it - if it gives you joy and makes you feel happy and fulfilled while you're doing it, that is the most important thing. We can't all be Picasso, for instance, but we need to fill our lives with activities we enjoy - so I hope everyone keeps up their hobbies and crafts, whether they are talented or not, as doing things you love contributes to having a full and happy life.
