how young were your kids when they 1st went into a swimming pool?  

All my children were little water dogs, they still are. They love swimming and my seven year old is wanting me to buy another swimming pool this year but since we are renting right now and don't have a yard since we live in a top apartment it is hard to do and she loves swimming and has her heart set on swimming again since it has been so long well long for her anyhow..since September. She will have to settle for one at big sissy's house till we find another place. They started swimming about 8 months to a year.

My Hubby hates the water so we never go as a family. Now I have two kids and I am trying to figure out how to watch both of them close enough to feel like they are safe. My kids love the sprinklers and the small pools we have in the yard but I have yet to take them to a big pool. I think my kids would love it. I will toughen up and this summer and try it out.

My son was about 2. My daughter is 2 and she has never been in a swimming pool though. I hope he had fun in there.

My daughters were about 2 months old they love the water.
I like the swim diapers so much better. The regular diapers
get all soggy and mushy hehe.

I think both my kids where about 6 months.. in a indoor pool though. hehe they love the water. ic an't wait for it to be warm enough to go swimming, my uncle has an outdoor pool at his house.

Both my kids were right about a year, or a little bit younger. They love the water.

My son was 7 months old and I joined a Mommy and Me Swim Class... I really wanted him to be comfortable in and around water because his dad is a huge water lover and I really wasn't... I never really learned how to swim until I was 18 and I missed out on alot of fun things... I didn't want my little one to go thru that...

I was told that the earlier you start them, the easier it is for them to 'remember' the sensation and they are less likely to panic at the thought of water in their eyes/mouths...

Another added bonus, it took away any fear of baths/showers!

Awww. I bet that was so cute. I think my daughter was about that age also when she first got in the pool too. We took her swimming early and she swims like a fish now.

Since I love swimming and we go to beach a lot. My daughter was about 4 months old when she got into a beach and 5months old into a pool. And now, she's 1 year old and 6 months old, she knows already how to use her legs in swimming. Her dad teaches her the basic in swimming.

my kids were almost 1 year when they tried swimming,they love the feel of water.i didnot know about this swim diaper,i was using plastic knickers,i was below 30 years of age then.
