You have to hand it to cnn. One of the stupidest things I have seen on 'breaking news' and the latest! The first lady and staff went to get a burger right along with Joe Biden! Well whoop de doo! If they consider that important enough to report, they ought to report that I am mylotting at the gym. Heh.

Anybody else think the news channels report the most unimportant mundane crap and try to act like its something COOL?

IMO it just more of using only mundane (regular guy) images that the media uses to hide or veil anything that may even just slightly tarnish the image of the Obamas.

myLot reputation of 94/100. mommyboo (3277)   ranked 71 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

Well, they ARE ordinary people. I don't think deciding to run for president and then make it makes you anything special. You are still who you were the day before that, and the day before that, etc. It doesn't make you different, it doesn't make you newsworthy, and it doesn't make you any more important or interesting than my neighbor's cousin's best friend's dog. Sorry.

myLot reputation of 78/100. whiteheather39 (13271)   ranked 216 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

Why be sorry. I did not disagree! It is the media who strokes their egos and tries to make them appear as some kind of divine beings.

myLot reputation of 94/100. mommyboo (3277)   ranked 71 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

Yep. I was just saying that they are no more important than my neighbor's cousin's dog.... lol. I'm sure there are people that would call something like that blasphemy, but honestly to someone who has never met ME, I'm about 'that important' to them. So yes, it's mostly media hype and people stupid enough to believe or buy into it.

And that's to probably tell people that First Ladies still eat burgers.LOL. In our small city anything, any stirring of the leaves or breathing of the fish can be considered as news because nothing much happens around here. With CNN, bringing fresh news to all parts of the world 24/7 must be not a walk in the park, so that every minute detail is given importance. It's the lack of anything significant that makes these media people resort to the mundane.

myLot reputation of 94/100. mommyboo (3277)   ranked 71 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

When nothing happens, then just don't report! I don't see why they have to pull this crap just because they don't 'have anything to report' Just like the government is supposed to be working for US (fat chance these days), the news folks are supposed to be working for US too! Why aren't they? And if they are, back to my comment about how they are catering to morons who like hearing this stuff, and these morons are the people we need to get rid of so the rest of us do not have to see 'news' like this any more. If you want to read/see/hear this stuff, go put on your fuzzy slippers and robe and buy a National Enquirer at the grocery store, okay? LOL!

I completely agree with you. The media has become a joke. There is no richness of content anymore. We may as well just not even listen. They wasted the space that could have been given to something else much more important.

The First Lady is human and does human things. Lets just agree that she does and report about people who cant feed themselves and their families....let alone buy a burger!

myLot reputation of 94/100. mommyboo (3277)   ranked 71 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

Well, you know it might be of humanitarian interest if while grabbing lunch, the first lady also paid for all the other burger patron's lunches while she was there, or for instance if it was actually a shameless advertising plug for the burger place, but of course they neglected to say which place it was. That leads me to believe it was SOLELY based on the fact it was Michelle Obama, which again is pretty silly. I hope not to meet face to face ANY PERSON who thinks that she's more important than any of us are. They won't like what I have to say to them about their strange and demeaning attitude.

24/7 news channels have to fill their time with something. I remember when SARS in China broke out, it was on every day, all day, all week, for a month. The key is, stop watching TV. It's stupid stuff. You can find at all the major events of the day by clicking on Goggle News once a day and skimming the headlines. Major news TV networks are as boring and repetitive, as they are often wrong.

myLot reputation of 94/100. mommyboo (3277)   ranked 71 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

Well, I have often said that 24/7 news channels shouldn't even exist. Perhaps there was a time for that, a decade, perhaps inbetween where all the news was on the radio and now, when people can get internet news mobile to their blackberry. You can get whatever info you want now, anywhere, and STRICTLY that info, at the touch of a button and forget about the rest. I don't get why anybody would want to pay for and watch a channel that does nothing but report the same thing on a loop over and over or fill in 'extra' time with police chase scenes or discussing what some politician or their family had for lunch.

I try to make the tv I watch entertaining, and news is not entertaining. I'm talking about prime time shows, that's about it.

LAMO! You said it!! I think it's that celebrity status ya know. Why do people need to know so and so was 'spotted' here or there - I'm sorry, I don't care. There are people that jump right into it or follow stories - if that's what you call it - like that. As for me, I agree with you. I don't care who they are or what they ate.

myLot reputation of 94/100. mommyboo (3277)   ranked 71 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

It's like a phenomenon, as SOON as somebody is or does something that makes them somehow 'cool', everybody struggles to get on the bandwagon and inflates it up even more. That tells me our society and people in general are the shallowest creatures on the planet, ANIMALS are better than we are since they don't act this way!

It's downright embarrassing is what it is. Sadly, most of the people who are responsible for this don't even have 2 brain cells to rub together and explain WHY!

Yes you would think that they could find some real news to report about, its not like their is nothing going on in the world today.

myLot reputation of 94/100. mommyboo (3277)   ranked 71 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

I have begun believing there is no such thing as REAL NEWS. There can't be. People are attracted to all sorts of different things. I mean my husband watches all sorts of news stuff and talk stuff that I can't seem to find a single interesting thing about. However, HE is interesting. I don't know what he sees in some of this stuff that's cool at all but hey, if it floats his boat, then I guess it has a reason to exist.

The types of real news I like is anything that might actually affect me, at ground level. Community and local things, human interest. I don't care a lot about stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with me, never will, and I couldn't influence the direction of whatever it is even if I had at my disposal an army of tanks and a title!

Hell why should we care about what she is wearing? I sure as hell dont, unless there were pics taken of her in just a thong, now then I might care lol. I think its stupid how they make such a big deal about them all the time. Ooooo she changed clothes and wearing some other dress that probably costs more then I get paid in a month, oooo wow we. Oh they got a dog, thats cool, but every damn president has had a dog or cat or both. If it was the very first time then yeah big deal.

myLot reputation of 94/100. mommyboo (3277)   ranked 71 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

I don't care what she is wearing. I wouldn't even care about a thong because gee... I don't like thongs. I'm not particularly keen on seeing someone ELSE in a thong either. I also don't understand that whole cost thing. Just because my salary quadrupled or whatever doesn't mean that I suddenly have to blow four times as much money on a dress, do I? Why would I do that? I'd still look for the same thing with a cheaper price tag. Especially with THIS economy. Sometimes I read about things that celebrities buy. Why the hell would you want to buy shoes the size of half your hand that cost $189 for your 3 month old baby who doesn't even WALK? I'm not the crazy one here.

myLot reputation of 62/100. darkjedi (4381)   ranked 2,284 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

Yeah I know, that is so damn stupid. I wouldnt buy my kids a pair of shoes that expensive no matter how old they are, hell I wouldnt even buy my self a pair of shoes that expensive lol. Yeah I wouldnt start buying more expensive clothes and shiit if I won the lottery and had 50 million dollars, I would still do the same exact things. Though I would buy myself a car lol. And probably have a house built, but thats all lol.

myLot reputation of 94/100. mommyboo (3277)   ranked 71 out of 6,340 in politics  7 months ago

I'd likely do the custom house thing, that would be fun. It would be where we'd retire, so I'd want it to have everything I wanted. We might buy new cars... maybe. But they'd be purchased off the lot, not financed, not leased. We could afford to do nice desert landscaping and hire a lawn service to take care of it, and I'd hire a housekeeper so I could stop cleaning my house. Everything else would stay the same. I'd still drive myself and buy groceries and go to the gym and take my daughter and her friend to school... and biitch about the cost of coffee and interact here and at facebook. lol I suppose I could afford to buy new running shoes a little more often than twice a year too, and we could go on a 'just us' vacation without kids each year. That's about it....

Oh but those fancy schmancy NEWS PEOPLE think it's news! Does that mean none of them have a life? Probably. I don't think much of news people anyway. I think they should have found a better profession.
