Are You Tired of Auto Warranty Calls???  

It is extremely irritating. Some days I get 4 every hour. Here in Georgia you don't get the option of a live person on the other end. They are ALL prerecorded messages. You do get the option at the end of the recording to have your number removed from their calling list. Only problem is requesting to be removed is like asking to be removed from spam emails...it only show them they contacted a live person & the calls increase. My parents were in a nursing home last year. The day they had their phone installed...15 minutes later they received a call from these jerks. My Dad hadn't even had a chance to call his friends & family to give then the new number before they were bugging him. I'm am soooo GLAD they will be shut down!!!

If I only get 12 calls a day, I feel it has been a GREAT day!!! I so look forward to the day they HAVE TO STOP!!! They don't care if you have a car or not. If only 1 percent of people called sign up, they make a fortune. I've heard on the news that they don't pay out to those who sign up with them anyway. I think there should be serious jail time for such a scam & headache!!!

A public lynching would be kind!!! I work weird hours so my sleeping time varies so I understand your frustration on being awoken. If i receive several close together, I take the phone off the hook. My family calls me on my cell phone if they need me. I'm not sure just fining them will be enough to satisfy me. I think jail time is warranted!!!

That's what's so freaking frustrating with these people...it doesn't matter whether you have a car or not...you still get the calls all day long. My car is 11 years old & my van is 13 years old. They won't cover them, yet I still get the calls. On top of the calls, I get snail mail saying the warranty on your Plymouth has expired. How the hell do they even know what brand of vehicle I drive??? I agree with you on the insurance, utility companies, etc. They shouldn't be able to call you. My last boss loved me when the insurance companies called to speak with him. I'd say I'll put you through in a moment, but I think I should warn you first....he smokes 4 packs of cigarettes a day & I've had a heart attack. We're the only two employees. They always hung up!!! In reality, he only smoked two packs a day & I NEVER had a heart attack...but it got rid of them & they didn't call back.

It is extremely annoying!!! It doesn't matter whether you own a car or not, they still call. Both of my vehicles are so old they won't cover them, yet I receive a dozen or more calls a day. They aren't happy to just call. I get dozens of envelopes each week offering the same. They even offer me a quote on the brand of both my vehicles. It scares me that they know that much about my personal life!!!

I have caller ID & it's a different number every time. One time the name comes up as Tollfree, next Wireless, next Local. There are websites set up just to tract ALL the numbers they have used. No matter what Sparky says, some of the numbers originate out of Canada. They seem to be very adept at abusing the system!!!

I rarely answer my home phone anymore, except for people I know. But to be honest if the service were not free ( husband got that as a retirement perk from the phone company) I would not have a landline at all. The only time I use it is when the person I plan on talking to is a real talker and would eat up my cell minutes( we all have friends or family like that). I do not even have a phone in my room anymore, other than my cell. Luckily none of those calls have some to my cell yet. But even then if I see 800 or out of area numbers I do not know, I let it go to voicemail.

On my home phone most of those calls I also let go to voicemail. I think it slows them down. I think in general it is better to screen calls anyhow.

Not much slows them down. My landline has been out of service for the last year. It was finally fixed about 3 weeks ago. I'm getting 12-20 calls every day...including Sundays. I check caller ID before answering it. If I don't recognize the number then I check it out on the internet. Important calls will leave messages. I've found http://800notes.com to be extremely helpful in tracking down what they're calling about. They don't seem to care whether we answer or not. They working on averages not every one answering. If they dial a thousand numbers & only 1 percent bites, they have had a good day. They don't just call a thousand....they call hundred of thousands. I had one company call me 6 times in less than 30 minutes. I picked up to tell them to stop calling & they hung up when I said hello. Never got the chance to say stop calling. Then 20 minutes later they were calling again. At one point I gave my fax number for my telephone number when ordering something. I was getting about 20 faxes every day trying to sell me vacations, insurance for my small business & various other junk. One company's fax was 20 pages long. Those haven't started back since my phone line has been repaired. I've tried calling some of these numbers back & they say they don't accept incoming calls.

I put my cell number on the do not call list. Only problem is these people ignore that list completely!!!

According to the local news, these warranty companies just take your money & never pay for your repairs. It's one excuse after another. Look 2 responses up & there is a link to a site set up to look up these numbers. It seems to be pretty reliable. You can leave comments on the problems you've had with a particular number.
