Have you ever signed up for a website, and agreed to recieve it's newsletter in order to possibly recieve free samples and coupons?
I just did! I've probably done it before too. I signed up for a website just now for a free sample of shampoo. I agreed to recieve the newsletter because it said I'd recieve coupons and free samples in my e-mail. Sounds worth while to me!

I signed up for a bunch of freebie things a way back. Some of them were good and some of them were useless, but I eventually found that the flood of e-mails was too much to keep up with and I cancelled everything.

It's fun for a while. Then when it's not fun any more, unsubscribe, unsubscribe, unsubscribe!

I've been to that point too... which is probably why it's not a smart idea for me to be signing up for new sites just for a tube of shampoo. Oh well!

I do this every now and then and have managed to get some good freebie samples. I always get free shampoo samples and moisturiser which I generally give to my sister but I also get regular freebies from Jack Daniels such as cufflinks, leather card holder, keyring which are quite good. In the past I have got seeds which I have given to my parents to grow and a cool pack for when you get a headache as well as a ton of vouchers for various products.
One thing I have done is set up a seperate email address just for freebies (a free gmail one) just so that any spam doesn't clutter up my inbox.

That's a good idea. I always forget to check my gmail account though!

Same here which is not so much of an issue with the one I set up for freebies as all that ever comes through is junk. I've actually had to set up a reminder on my pc that I check my gmail for freebies at least once a week.

I hate when there are strings attached. I will give them my address and what they need to get the stuff to me. I dont want to give them my phone number and get a newsletter but I will take one if the sample is worth it.

Ha yeah I've signed up o a few things although I like to keep a fairly good odea of who I've signed up to, as spam is often a problem. I try to always read the terms and conditions and the privacy act to make sure that they are not going to give out my details to a third party.
Today I printed out a coupon for a free perfume sample and I'm waiting for some pimple/blackhead gel stuff to come that's supposed to be groundbreaking and fantastic.
Half the things I get sent aren't even useful to me but it's so thrilling to get a little package in the mail!
On the otherhand, I have discovered some good products in the past that I have begun to regularly purchase so I do often keep an eye out for free samples.

I have definitely done this! I also go to Walmart .com because they have a freebies section. I try and save the sample for when we are either going somewhere overnight or if someone comes to visit and forgets something. They are also good for when you run out of something like shampoo and you can get a day or 2 before I have to go to the store.

I've normally used them just to make my stuff last longer. If I put it away for a special time, I'd forget I had it!

I've done this before too as it seems like a great idea, however, everytime I request a sample or coupon I'm told that I've already requested this product at some point. I have no knowledge of doing this (maybe I'm using the computer in my sleep and signing up for all these samples that I never receive;o
I've pretty much given up on it as I find it's a complete waste of my time to request the sample only to be told no :'(

I used to do that alot. Then i was getting so many newsletters it just wasn't worth it. I wasn't interesting in reading most of them so it took me a lot of time to go through my email and delete them. I tried unsubscribing to them but that was a pain in the butt too. I usually just try to find good coupons for stuff.

I do it all the time. I can say that at least twice a week I have some free sample in my mailbox. I love receiving them!
I sign up for the newsletters too. It isn't a big deal, I usually just delete them anyways.
Today I received some dove shampoo.

I would do that too if it was legit. I will happilly fill out forms to get free samples. Especially shampoo samples. I love trying new shampoos for free, and it helps to not have to go out and buy so much of it. I bet free shampoo samples help to keep me from buying a couple of bottles a year, and every bit helps.

Hey kats! I do it all the time! I am always joining websites
for free stuff and half the time I don't even get the free
stuff anyway! And then I do get lots of emails and junk
mail instead! And you think I would learn! But, nope I still
keep on signing up for stuff anyway! Once in awhile I actually
do get some good freebies so you just never do know!

HI Kats: I've been doing this a lot this past year, some are great to receive, but I get so tired of all the friggin spam mails from so many other places, crap mail I call them; I do set up a different email just for this purpose but I also forget sometimes and use my regular email addy and then the flood gates really open up then it seems but I do love to receive free things/coupons/in my mail;
I guess the postman gets tired of it all but too bad!
I need all the help I can get...

And alkl you have to do is to receive the news letter? It sounds great to me. Get as many free samples as you can. It is going to be a long hot summer and then getting the children ready for school in the fall. I used to be so creative with the school expenses. Picking things up in sales and putting them in a suitcase until September!

I have signed up with a few websites to get free samples. I use to like doing it but as my time became more limited, I found it to be too cumbersome to keep up. Especially when I realized that I only get about 30% of the samples that I order. I will do it every now and then when I spot something that seems too good to pass up, but I don't just go after all freebies like I use to since I don't get many of them.
