Well Slap my Wrist and Call me Pagan!

That's not very Christian of them is it! This is what disturbs me about the faith, it's a beautiful faith with wonderful teachings, but so few actually follow those teachings. My final communications paper was on Spirituality in the Workplace and this was something we talked about because it's still a very touchy issue and controversial one. As a Pagan I've run into several problems, especially at my first teaching post where it was a literal witch hunt. I used to walk on egg shells, not tell anyone what I believed, and now I've changed that. I pray as well that the Godddess in her wisdom will do what is right and what is needed.

I don't personally think that I've ever joined a group under false guises, but I do still read certain Christian items because of the teaching themselves, yet no member has ever asked me to leave. In fact I belong to an online Gnostic group that has been very welcoming.

I did get banned from one group for modified people, and after having my name removed, banned from signing on, I actually received an email a few weeks ago giving me updates on their latest expansion. I personally do not support their work anymore and don't actively encourage anyone to go participate. Oh, I was banned because I encouraged safe body modification practices. Go figure!

All I can say is there are lots of websites with beautiful Pagan e-cards so let that site have theirs and enjoy the sites that don't care if you are Pagan or the what not.

OMG!! They actually said that? unbelievable!! I wish you would of said which website it is, as I have a few i've bookmarked also, although I haven't received a message like that from any of them. And if I did i would have to do just what you did!! What a crack up..... God has got to be laughing at them & their 'christian' ways!! Too funny.... Lori

That website must be based out of the county I live in here in Tennessee:) Sounds just like the people that live around here. If you don't believe what they believe, or go to their church, then you're going to hell-but they'll of course pray for you along the way. I don't even talk to anyone here anymore, I get so tired of listening to the hippocritical hatred that spews out of their mouths.

Nope, can't recall ever being banned from a site. Just threatened with suspension for voicing my opinion:)

You know, this is the third time I am trying to reply to this thread and the page keeps changing to some kind of ad. I hope mylot gets that under control soon.

Well that sucks! Whoever sent you that email is no Christian indeed. I can't believe that idiot banned you because of your pagan beliefs. I dig paganism, they're not bad people at all. I have a few pagan friends also, one girl I know that is in a wiccan religion is hot, liking that goth look, but she's beautiful. Anyway, people like that sends a bad name to hypocritical Christians. Speaking of getting banned from sites, or I should say groups was one in Myspace. I joined Daily Bible Study for the hell of it. And me I didn't say anything bad about Christians, but because the admin didn't like the fact I had a pentagram symbol in my profile he called me a Satanist. I started laughing for his false accusations. Too many of which believe in something that has been misinterpreted in the ages. Anyways, I just say the hell with them. Pagans rule!

JUst as there are many types of pagans and many beliefs within the pagan community....there are differing types of Christians too.

I have also met some people who say they are pagans but knew very little of the actual teachings and played at being all bad, you know the kind....thinking its all about the devil and evil.

So why are you judging all Christians by this one type you came across? I try real hard not to judge all pagans by the few nut cases that I come across.:)

How dare they bann you!!! still its their lost, I once had a bible basher come to my doorand told them I am a Pagan, they looked at me and told me to REPENT and it was the devil's work, OMG! exscuse the pun, they told me I was evil, so I told them if i am so evil why are they taking a chance standing on my doorstep? and showd them my witches Bible and they leged it down the pathway. Yes I have been banned from a site too recently. Love and hugs.

Sometimes I think Pagans are better "Christians" than probably 80% of the Christians I know.

What I mean by that is the ideals that they are taught in their churches and their homes are all too often little more than words floating on air to them. They teach it, they learn it, they can recite it forwards and backwards but they don't practice it. The biggie is "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Most of the pious, devout Christians I know are the most judgmental people ever (keep in mind the words "most" and "I know" meaning that what I say here does not apply to all Christians all over the world, just the ones that I know personally). If you don't conform to what they believe to be right, proper, or acceptable, if you are homosexual or agnostic, if you have had an abortion or (in some cases) use any method of birth control, then you are wrong, plain and simple. That, by the definition of judging that I am familiar with, is judging people.

But the Pagans I know also teach those values and ideals as well as practice them. In my experience, Pagans (Wiccans, Druids, whatever the "sect") are considerably less judgmental. When we say, "do as thou wilst, lest ye harm none," we really do treat others the way we would like to be treated. We forgive people for words and actions that hurt us or that we are morally opposed to.

I really don't mean to offend anyone by this, Christian, Pagan or otherwise. I really am basing this comparison on the people I know directly in my life. Plus I did say 80% so there's always a chance of falling into the other 20%.

I have never been banned from one. Once I tried to join a site which did not accept proxies, which I was using for security purposes. I think that is very rude of them to exclude you because of that. It is quite closed minded.

Well, to be a Christian organization they sure don't act Christian. Another thing they are judging you just because you would not sign their message.
Their email cards are free for people to use. What goes around comes back around, and they will be judged for their actions.
