my neighbor's grandaughter didn't know about hanging out clothes.

We are all spoiled i know but sometimes the old way of doing things is not bad & the sad thing to me young folks will never know about them or have the experience of enjoying them. Just because it's the new way of doing things doesn't make them the best to me anway. I didn't have a microwave till about 15 years ago. I don't use it that much, mainly to warm up leftovers but i'm glad i have it. I remember when my grandmother got an electric skillet. She was so proud of it u would have thought it was gold. I have it now & still use it. Thanks for your response. Hope your sat. is going great.

yes you are right, we live in an age where young kids think that the milk always has been in the carton in the supermarket....... and you see so much younger folks simply not able or interested in still cooking from scratch. I learned it and still use it. I am also using some convenience stuff, granted, but then jazz it up with stuff from scratch and it tastes unique.... lol.......

i STILL COOK FROM SCATCH TObut there are some quick things i use buy i'm like u i usually add my touch. . so many young ones don't want to cook at all. I have a dil like that.

hi Antiquelady its very warm here now in the part of Germany where I live and so I have to confess that I use the microwave more than the oven and that also meams more convenience food mainly when I come home so late from work and its around 10 pm till I have time to eat a bit of dinner.
But on weekends I always cook from scratch. I just bought me a few books about using the microwave to really cook and not only defrost or warm up foods.

good morning book, there is nothing wrong in that. When u work u need shortcuts sometimes.I have a friend that cooks veggies in the microwave but have to admit i still like them the old way better. we all do was we have to do to survive, don't u think?

right, lol, and I am glad we have the microwave here. Hubby bought it God knows why when he was still single but has not used it, and I pestered him about setting it to work in our apartment here. Meanwhile he also is glad we got that gadget.

I wouldn't live anywhere like that either. i know u are trying to feel better & i hope u do soon. A person can just take so much b/s before it gets to them. I have been sort of having a pity party myself this weekend. I'm o.k., it just comes to all of us sometimes. You have a good monday, just tune them all out if u need to.HUGS, JO

Time changes everything & sometimes it's not for the best. I miss that smell to especailly in my sheets. I just got where i couldn't do that anymore but wish i could do alot of things i use to do.
