Does going through hardship, trials in life makes us stronger, tougher |
|
and better person? It does not seem to be that way many times though in my life. yes it gives me important lesson but it just seems that i am still the old me with more mature look physically and besides nothing has changed except the things around has changed a lot every day and there is nothing constant in this world. the circumstances keep changing but our old self seems to be there still not changed a bit through the years. if there has been changed seem to be not significant or worth bragging about in public.
So what has been changed in you hat makes you a better person than before.?

1. Wizzywig (2870) | 7 months ago | I think there is a lot of truth in the saying that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Over the last few years there have been changes and incidents in my life that I never imagined I could deal with. I never thought of myself as a strong person and have never liked myself much - however, I can look back now and realise that I did ok.

hotsummer (2756) | 6 months ago | i have heard this saying before. and there is truth to that but i don't like this saying though. cause i feel sometimes that those trials i have been through was more like a death to me in a way.

3. darkstormy1 (226) | 7 months ago | I have had many things in my life happen that should it happen to another it might of destroyed them for me it did make me stronger I believe things happen for a reason and never does anyone receive anything they can not handle so people generally have two choices rise above find a way to overcome the hardship and in turn make them stronger wiser or turn resentful fight it and let them turn negative or worse make themselves out to be a victim it all depends on a persons mindframe if you look at anything the right way you can take a lesson out of it

hotsummer (2756) | 6 months ago | yes every thing happens for a reason. but to accept every thing that happens to us are not that easy. we have to hold on to our beliefs.

|
|
darkstormy1 (226) | 6 months ago | I agree it is not easy but I do not think it is suppose to be for if it comes too easily we seem to not get as much out of it life has hard decisions that is the way i see it but you are too true

5. faisai (623) | 6 months ago | I believe that the best way to learn is when we face difficulties. When we are offered the difficulties, we try so hard to overcome that we will learn it by heart. Now, it is fairly likely that the same situation won't happen the second time but then something similar will and since we have experienced before, we are thus in better position to deal with them. Flowers growing in a greenhouse may seems so nice being taken good care of compared to those growing in the wild. But the greenhouse may just disappear one day suddenly that which one will be better in fighting for survival?

6. chikadee21ph (287) | 6 months ago | I strongly believe that the trials and hardships we encounter in life are the one that make us a better person. They hone us to be stronger and better person. As for me, I now see life positively. Unlike before where I only had those negative thoughts that make me sad and bitter.
| |
| |
|
|
hotsummer (2756) | 6 months ago | yeah in the beginning when we are new to trials we see trials as more negative than positive. as we learn we see that we can make good things out of bad things.

7. francheskie (834) | 6 months ago | Yes of course and I believe on that because of the hardship and trials that we encounter in life we become strong and after we passed those trials we are able to get our reward and next time that we encounter again those trials it is easy for us to solve. It's just like an examination in the school where we need to pass all subjects to go in the next level. And this time it is tougher than before. So we will learn more like in life, we will learn the more the trials that we encounter.

hotsummer (2756) | 6 months ago | yes i think that the believe thaa we will be rewarded after getting through those trials is what keeps people get through life's difficulties and trials.

8. rymebristol (1645) | 6 months ago | i am of both. an individual may get tougher, or may be, he'll be much weaker. it depends on the events and circumstances. when someone felt that he had been useless then most probably he'll break down eventually, sooner or later will give up life as it is. like there is nothing left and nothing to loose.

hotsummer (2756) | 6 months ago | does it guarantee that w ewill be tougher the next time we have some problems in life.

9. mentalward (4358) | 6 months ago | I always try to ask myself one of two questions when hardship hits. Either, "What can I learn from this?" or "What have I learned from this?"
I've almost died a few times in my life; the first time was when I was 19 years old and I hemorrhaged after surgery. It made me realize just how fragile and precious life is. When I recovered and was out of the hospital, I vowed to make the most of my life and be the best person I could be.
Of course, if life has changed you, hopefully it's for the better. If it is for the better, you wouldn't want to brag about it, anyway. Bragging is not a good attribute. If you truly ARE as good as you think, you don't need to brag about it; people will know it.
You may not notice changes in yourself but everything we go through changes us a little bit, at least as long as we have our eyes, ears and hearts open.
| |
| |
|
|
hotsummer (2756) | 6 months ago | yeah definitely it will surely affect or changed us a bit. but i mean to say is if it will change us dramatically that will cause a turn around of our attitude in life which i think you had when you resolved to make the best out of life after getting alive out of that surgery.
i may say i may have turned into a bitter than a better person after things or sadness that i went through early on in my growing up years and specially in my teens.

10. bluerlyn (120) | 6 months ago | personally, i believe it to be true. as they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. when you surpass difficult situations, you come out of it as a better and more mature person. You may not be scathe-free, yet the things that you learn from the situation will definitely aid you in cases you encounter something similar.
nonetheless, not all people respond the same way when faced with difficult situations. trials can either make us or break us, we can come out of it better or bitter. at the end of the day we chose how to respond to these situations.
