haircut.

Wow. That is a very long time. I am very picky about my hair also and cannot find one person who will cut it right for me more than once. I do not have any DIL's or SIL's yet. I may have given them a chance too but would not go back either if they did not do a good job on it.

Sounds like she is really concerned with what you think of her...lol..She may think she has a lot to live up to considering you made your living as a hairdresser. I think that alot of daughter in laws are intimidated by their husband's mothers. You are the head of the family jo.

I think in that situation it is good to be tactful, always. I am glad you have a good relationship with your dil. Mine did a really nice job with the flowers for my daughter's wedding.

Awww that's cute Anti... but I can appreciate that she was afraid of messing up your hair, or you not liking her work. I was a nurse, and my supervisor was an asthma patient sometimes... well I had to start an IV on her and I was scared to death. She told me to just pretend she was any other patient and not my boss.. I did and did great... so I can understand that kind of anxiety.

I don't have a daughter in law yet, but I find it amusing that it took her three years to get brave enough to cut your hair. Guess she was afraid of making the hubbies mommy mad . I think she must have been so worried about what you were going to say.After all you were the expert and would be able to tell if something was not right.At least she has got her confidence.The mil is a strange beast you know.Mine is alright sometimes the thought of upsetting her fills me with dread,she is kind,loving woman and so far we evertthings been fine but like I say you have to be careful.

Cool, you were a hairdresser? My mom tells stories of sitting in her grandmother's beauty parlor. It was really an extension of her grandparent's house, but her grandmother worked out of it. In fact, my grandmother (my mom's mom of course, lol) has the sign that hung outside the beauty parlor hanging in her backyard.

I'm like you. If I had hated the haircut, I would not have said anything. I hate to hurt people's feelings, but to hurt a close relative...I don't think I could do it. But I'm so glad it turned out well!

Hairdressers are the pickiest customers ever! I am one for 11 years now so I know...we just know exactly how we want our hair & unfortunatley cannot cut it ourselves! No 2 people cut hair the same...
