Again I have had a couple of complaints in my Discussions
1, The Discussion is to long
Ok many Members here have already pointed this out, Members who like me have been here from the start
A Discussion is a Discussion, and it states to be as descriptive as possible so there will be times that the Discussions could end up long, my advise is, go past the Discussion, do NOT go into the Discussion and complain about the length and how long it took you to read it, just so you still earn, that is against the Guidelines
2, The Discussion is boring, sick of reading it
Then don't read it, don't even reply to it just to earn your Money it is again against the Guidelines, walk past it, ignore it
There is giving your Opinion and there is being rude and as I see it, the 2 at the top are rudeness not an Opinion
I know you have but I have to make this into a Discussion, have you come across this again lately

Some people are just ignorant and nasty minded Gabs. Though if you pointed that out to them, they'd deny it I'm sure!
I look at it this way: If mylot admin wanted us to 'shorten' our discussions, there would be a word total we could reach while typing and then we'd be cut off.
And there isn't. So to those who complain...............well I think we need a smilie that thumb's it's nose we can use on them!
I had someone complain about the length of my last discussion, but they were nice about it, so that was ok. I thanked them for reading it all. To those who get nasty, I check out their profile and often find those types are only here for the money anyway, and so I don't let them bother me. They aren't worth any effort.
So you write as many long discussions as you want Gabs. I certainly enjoy them and I know more people do than people who don't. Hugs.......

This one turned out to be an isolated incident. Were you around when a bunch of us went after that last one (in Pyewacket's discussions)? That guy was forgettable enough that I cannot remember the name he used here.

But again why complain that it is to long, they did not need to point that out, even in a nice way, you had a lot to tell us and I certainly enjoyed reading it
I am not just on about my Discussions, I see it in others to and I just can not get it into my Head (I know I am blond so that could be the reason) if it is to long or boring, why be so rude to point it out instead of passing it
Not our Fault we like to talk lol

Never stop talking Gabs! I'd rather listen to you than some numbnuts that thinks long posts are boring or whatever. Their loss, their rudeness and I think they only do it to 'start something' so they get attention. Sad little minds with no imagination they are!

I've heard that too. I had a comment once stating "You're not paid per word!" Uh... so? I don't always start discussions just to earn a penny, sometimes I start them because I am looking for advice or knowledge or whatever else.
I've also had people respond to my discussions and flat out say they hadn't read the whole thing, yet they try to respond anyways.

Hello Kats, well that is against the rules to those type of comments, how can they respond when they have not read the whole Discussion it just makes me mad why bother going to the Discussion just walk past
As Gerty says mylot prefers in detail Discussions which are worth responding to
You just keep doing your Discussions how are you are

You know, we do not get paid per word, but quality content that is more substantial earns more pennies in the long run. I do not see anything in the rules that says, "Do not be too long" I only see rules that say "do not do one word answers." I think MyLot likes long, substantial discussions.

A few weeks ago, we found someone who also posted a one-liner about Pyewacket's discussions being too much to read. After he started SEVERAL (not one - but several) discussions complaining about his earnings, & leaving one-worders & short one-liners that just made no sense we succeeded in getting him wiped off of MyLot.
So where did it happen & who was it?

It's people like that we have been going after, because when it comes to earnings, they are cheating us. I might actually have found others who might be willing to help in either making these idiots understand on how things work here, or drive them off the site.
I have never been part of ciao, but it's people like them that caused that site to shut down, meaning that those who wrote for them may have more time on their hands, but at the same time, they lost a good place to earn.
Furthermore, you know about the last flame war that has just ended. It seems that we have just driven some of the trolls away, & it may have been just the timing of things, but that misunderstanding that started it was after a victorious ending of some of these trolls. This at least ended in that both sides at least have respect for each other, if they didn't become friends, as well as a couple of discussions being deleted. It seems that if we don't have any of these idiots to go after, flame wars end up breaking out between the real MyLotters instead of real MyLotters against trolls. So - before the next flame war between real MyLotters breaks out - who the heck was it?

It's ok Krazy, it has not upset me, and it has only happened once of each
But it is also showing in some other Discussions I have come across, I just wish People did not have to be so rude I wish they would go to something that would interest them and that is short
The ones on mine are minor and I put a polite reply to them and that is it for me but it worries me that it might affect some Members in the way of them not writing detailed Discussions because of these comments coming along,

Gabs we have been friends for almost 4 years and am used to the very detailed and descriptive discussions from you and Gissi...verdict...I love them all. I have said from day one that you should write children's books under the Gissi personae.
I know I do not respond to all of your (or other friends) discussion but it has nothing to do with the length of the discussion but because I do not have time or anything to add. I much prefer your attention to detail than discussion that do not give enough detail and I am left wondering who or what the poster means or even worse causes misunderstanding which then lead to wars, hurt feelings etc. So in other words you just keep doing your thing and if anyone does not like it then they can move on! xxOOxx2 people like this

Hey gabs! There are plenty of discussion starters here who
start very LONG discussions that are way longer than yours!
And if those that are not interested DO NOT HAVE TO READ THEM!
GO AWAY! If they are looking for fast money, there are plenty
of one liner discussions with no substance to respond to!
Those of us that are here with our friends CARE what OUR FRIENDS
have to say so we WANT to read what THEY HAVE TO SAY NO MATTER
HOW LONG THE DISCUSSION IS! We are not interested in the length
of the discussion or the money! And they can take their rude azzes
somewhere else! I, myself am longwinded in starting and responding
and I don't give a crap if someone doesn't like it! I have many
friends here that I care about and that care about me! After a
year on the Lot that's what happens! So Gabs, do not let anyone
tell you what to do or make you feel that you are doing anything
wrong because WE WHO ARE YOUR TRUE FRIENDS AND GISSI'S LOVE YOU
BOTH AND WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU BOTH! DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING THAT
YOU ARE DOING! MAKE YOUR DISCUSSIONS AS LONG AS YOU WANT BECAUSE
THAT'S WHAT YOUR FRIENDS WANT YOU TO DO! Hugs to you and Gissi,
Opal, Star and Luna and More...................................

Lol Sweetie, thank you, I certainly will not change anything in any way as I can not just put a few words down lol I need to get my point over, or People will get confused, well never mind others I would confuse myself lol
Thank you Sweetie for your support and for being a wonderful Friend
Love to Star and Luna
Gissi sends his Love to even though he is mad at me again lol
Big Hugs to you always

Wow. Those are the types of people who just find things to complain about. Like you said...if you think it's too long, why are you sticking around and only "contributing" to the discussion by complaining? If I saw someone leaving a comment with a complaint I'd rate it negative. There's no reason to take the time to post if you can't contribute.

Hello LovingLife, yes you are right but also I suggest you report them because that way they do not get paid for responding to that I never used to report them, but I will do as from now, not just in my Discussions also if I see it now in Friends Discussions
People take time and care to do the Discussions so why should someone go in there complaining about it
Thank you

I agree with you Gabs, so often we have posted good but long discussions, I think some of the newbies here don't get it they are here to make a quick buck and do not believe in waisting any time(OOPs bandwith) many discussions you see have just one line responses and just one word comment too many get repetitive. I guess when they siged up they never went through the guideines. Thanks for bringing this out. I generally mark such single line comments as - and then move ahead.

I have not run into this in any of my discussions, but mine are not usually very long. I do not have a problem with my friends posting long discussions. If we sat down for coffee or tea we might each have some long winded things to say. It makes the background complete in a discussion. No reason for people to be rude, but some people choose to anyway. You just keep up, Gabs. We love ya.

Hi Steph that is what I do to, as some People will find it interesting
There is no need to go in and upset the Person with comments like that and then get paid for it
I took it in my stride, but there will be Members here specially new Members, who would loose all confidence in writing

I have no problem with long discussions, if the subject is interesting...
I hate seeing rude people responding to discussions just to b*tch about them.
I have posted long discussions, and if anyone complains, I report them - I would suggest that you do too. They are not the sort that we need at this site.

I also get bent about those people that come on, post 15 or 30 3-4 questions about inane things just for the money and NEVER respond to other people's posts... I deleted one "friend's" 25 posts yesterday who does this. I leave them on, because sometimes I don't have 80 discussions to respond to like I do after being off for the last 4 days....

You know what gabs, I can not agree with you more!! Gee, if I bore someone, I hope they move on to other subjects that peeks their interest because like you, my life is what it is, my life. Interesting or not, it is my life just like yours is yours. If someone doesn't like it, then it's time they moved on to what ever they're interested in. There's no need to be mean, hateful or rude. No need what so ever! Sweetie, don't let these ignorant azzes get to you!! You have enough friends here that ARE interested in what you have to say and that includes ME!!

Hello Sweetie, it has not bothered me as much to be honest but I am seeing to much of it again in others Discussions to and it is not fair
At the end of the Day we earn honestly here not by going round being rude and one liners and start Discussions that ends up in the wars
Good to see you Sweetie
Hugs

Thankfully I have never had this problem. I don't see why people even respond if all they are going to do is complain. I enjoy long discussions because they are detailed, and you are able to get the whole gist of things. I think some people are just cranky, rude people who need to get over themselves lol, and have nothing better to do. Hopefully they will stop bothering you. Good luck.

Hello tlb, I am not the only one affected by the rude People that is why I started this Discussion, some People with a comment like that could shy away from starting a decent Discussion and it is not fair on them
Thank you for your thoughtful thoughts tlb

I like your discussions and Gissi's discussions.
I agree, as long as it's within guidelines, if you don't like the discussion, just walk on by. Why make a pain in the neck of yourself. There are plenty of other discussions!!!

Gabs, I must admit that if the discussion is very long and I am short of time then I will give it a miss, or skim through it, however I would never ever complain about the length. Again if I found it boring I would just move on to another one.
I don't ever remember any of yours being boring, although what is boring to someone could be very exciting to someone else.
This is a discussion site, the discussion should be about the content that has been posted, not about the length or quality, I am happy to read all your discussins, and proud to be able to call you a friend.
ps tell me who complained and me and Gissy will go round and show them what teeth are for.

I think it is safe to say that most of us have had a similar experience, gabs. I remember once that one of my discussions was referred to as "stupid."
I could only think: Well, why are you taking the time to respond if it is so stupid? I just think that some people get a thrill from putting others down. You're absolutely right that we should go into some detail when the discussion warrants it. Don't worry about the critics.

Here here...I agree. There are enough discussions started at any one time to keep everyone happy. If you don't like the length or the content..keep on going....or be really useful and respond to one that has no responses so someone else makes a bit of money...

You're right, it's rude to respond to a discussion by saying it's long, boring, or whatever. If it doesn't interest you, move on. There are plenty of other discussions to participate in. I don't understand why people feel they have to comment if they have nothing constructive to contribute.
