Do you read while you are on the toilet seat?  

Usually when I'm reading a magazine I'm in bed, but sometimes if not feeling to good and have to use the restroom i would bring in into the bathroom with me. While I'm reading magazine i try to jot down ideas to use on mylot and see what the mylotters answers are. A lot of people keep magazines in their bathroom so that they do have something to read while using the restroom.

I think it is a better way to say bathroom or restroom then to say toilet seat. Most of the time you don't say I'm going to use the toilet but you say I'm going to the bathroom or restroom.

Hands up every time I go to the loo I take some form of reading material in with me, either magazine or book. I find the lack of distractions means that I will read a lot more in those moments I am sitting on the pan and it’s a lot more interesting than staring at the back of the door. Now I know this is sad but I remember once not having any reading material so picked up an air freshner and read the information on the back.

Haha! I have read on the toilet before but I usually don't do it. I tend to just go in to do my business and then go back to whatever else I was doing. I know my parents do this because they keep books beside their toilet. I can understand how you would be able to focus better because of the solitude. I feel like sometimes my only time alone in the day is my bathroom/shower time. Maybe I should try reading on the toilet so that my books will go faster. haha! Good discussion topic!

Hello.I dont like reading while I am in the toilet.I spend minimum time the toilet,so there is no question in reading a book.I have got my own room and as I am the only child,I get total privicy in my room.I dont have a siblings to disturb me.

Whenever I went to toilet, there are 2 things that I always bring together with me. One is my cigarette and the other is newspaper. It became a habit for me to bring them along.

I prefer to bring newspaper because out side the toilet, I hardly read one. I prefer to read it online or watch t.v if I look for the news. But I didn't bring the whole newspaper altogether. I just pick some section and it is usually the sport section.

Yes, I admit it. I am not a closet reader but a bathroom reader. I have magazines, and books in every bathroom in my house. I have been guilty of having three books going at one time, one in each bathroom. I like mostly mystery type books but will occasionally pick up a steamy romance. I also like books about personal finance, and home management. I also read magazines if I am in between books. Reading helps me to relax, and being a work at home mom of three it is really the only time I get a few minutes to myself everyday.

I'm a toilet reader! I don't know why it's a habit, but it is, haha! I usually read novels, or newspapers. I think it's mostly cause I fall asleep if reading on the bed, and then I get antsy if I sit in a chair for too long. I pay much more attention when I'm reading on the toilet. xD

I grew up in a home where the bathroom was another library, with books and magazines stacked high. Problem was, there were 2 adults and 7 children, and often people pounded on the door to get someone in there to hurry up because they needed to go [Not like we had 2 or 3 bathrooms in the house; we just had one]! I still carry on the habit of reading in the bathroom, but I don't think I do it as often as my mother. She worked nights as a nurse and raised 7 kids; the only time she had to read was while in the bathroom. I, however, prefer to take my book into the tub while soaking the stress of the day away. If the water's hot enough I can usually get through a chapter of a good book. I do have a cross-stitch that I did, and have it hanging in the bathroom, of a bunny with a book sitting on the 'throne' that says 'no parking during rush hour'. It reminds me of how things were when I was growing up.

i have never read on the toilet and i would never touch a book or magazine that anyone had read on the toilet. i don't know why but i tend to think the toilet is for using then getting out of, definately not for reading. i know a lot of people like to read in the toilet. an ex work mate used to always take a newspaper, when he asked to borrow mine it was always a definate no.

Honestly, I don't read while sitting in the throne of comfort. I don't spend a lot of time sitting in the toilet so I don't read anything on it. I just thank God that I am able to remove those excess in my body. I have noticed some people who spend much sitting on that comfort room. I wonder what makes them spend that much time. Are they constipated?
