I am getting rid of the useless one. |
|
Okay now this is kind of hard for me to do. I have loved her for many yeaqrs as she was very supportive especially in the dog days of the hot humid summers. But the spring was a bear with her. She left her little kids all over the lawn making it hard to enjoy the softness of the grass and enjoy a day just walking on my yard. This photo shows the tree I am getting rid of. This is I think a Dogwood. They leave a snow like fuzz each year as it sends it's shoots off and I and the neighbor hate it. We are splitting the cost to remove this beast. When was the last time you got rid of a useless tree or anything useless in your yard?

I don't know how old it was since it was here when we moved in but it started to lean really bad and it wouldn't have been much longer until it would have ended up taking about the fence which would be more costly to fix or replace the fence than it was to have the tree removed. It was some type of ash tree I think.

webeishere (12394) | 4 months ago | This tree is about 30 to 35 feet tall I'd guess. It is very annoying with the fuzz in May and thre shoots grow to be very hard and hurtful when walked upon. It HAS to go and now's the time. I had one right agaimst the roof of my garage we had removed a few years back. I miss the shade from that tree a lot in the back yard. This one won't affect shade fully as theres a few pine trees as well as you can see. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

2. dawnald (9785) | 4 months ago | We had a tree at our last house with huge invasive roots that destroyed our driveway and dropped all sorts of debris all over it too. The neighbor hated it and was so happy when we had it chopped down and the trunk removed. We redid our driveway and put up a retaining wall and it looked so much nicer.

4. dragon54u (9611) | 4 months ago | I'm always having to pull baby maple trees from my front yard and it really is a shame. I've never removed a large tree before, though. It's always sad to see a tree go but maybe you can replace it with something better?

6. walijo2008 (3716) | 4 months ago | Well I hate having to cut down any trees, we have a orchard and last year we had to cut down an apple tree that died, it wasn't producing any apples, and now we've got a pear tree that's dying, and I'm afraid soon we'll be cutting it down, it made a good shade tree too, and we also have a peach tree that isn't doing any good, we could maybe save the peach tree by spraying it but the pear tree will have to come down, I just hate it, it leaves an awful bare spot when you cut something down.

7. ElicBxn (15305) | 4 months ago | well, I had a large part of a dead tree come down this spring in my back yard... I was thinking I was going to have to pull the rest of it down, at least the parts over my yard when the neighboring apartment complex did the whole tree (first good thing that darn place has ever done since they put up the privacy fence!)
I need to go cut down a little dead tree, but I ain't doing it until its cooler

8. tamarafireheart (12533) | 4 months ago | Hi GRANDPA BOB,
Nice to see you here again, its a shame you have to get rid of a tree but if you don't like it well there is nothing you can do but get rid, I love all my trees round here but we are not allowed to cut any trees down as its belong to the council, only they can cut trees down.

9. Debs_place (6723) | 4 months ago | The last useless thing I got rid of was my ex-husband.
But I love dogwoods..now those weeping willows they are a pain and I would have no problem getting rid of one of them. Come to think of it I did. It was in my last house. The neighbors were upset, it shaded their house but it just dropped branches all over my yard.

10. BarBaraPrz (3399) | 4 months ago | We have what I like to call "weed" trees... some call them Manitoba Maples... They grow like weeds and do nothing but produce seeds spring, summer and fall. I'm constantly pulling out the upstarts. The hibiscis trees are bad for that too, but at least they grow slowly and have pretty flowers.
