Yes i do kkanaka. I make it a habit to turn off unused electricity. Now that our bill id rising up again. I always make it a point to turn off fans, computer, television or any machine that would require electricity. A lot of fire story came from unplugged machines. So to avoid these kind of accidents, we better start this habit of turning off unused electricity.

Yes, even I do it. Earlier when I was a kid I had a habit of leaving everything on in one room when I am in some other room. My mom used to scold me for that, Cause our electricity bills used to be very high. In order to reduce the watts required per month, my mother made me switch off the lights and fans before leaving the room.
Now after repeated scolding and running behind me I have finally got the habit of following this rule!
In addition we also switch off the main geyser switch when not in use because one electrician said that leaving that on, when you are not using the geyser, consumes a lot of electricity which due to daily accumulation leads to a good amount of bill!
Also, nowadays the set-top boxes are used to access TV channels, that also consumes a lot of electricity!

Yes i often turn off all the appliances, before leaving the room weather in home or in the other home, to save energy and to avoid any emergency.

We all have a habit of switching off the light and fan when we are leaving that place at home and at office also.My son who is just 8 years old is also very strict on this and tells erverybody to switch off when they are not present there. Sometimes old people in our house forgets but then we do it for them . By this only we can cut out our electric bills which are very huge.

I do that too, turn off the light every time I leave the room. However, when I will be just out for a few seconds, then I don't. I heard that turning appliances on causes a surge in power too, but I am not sure if it is real. I'm a bit forgetful when it comes to the TV though, so I must make a habit of turning it off when I leave the room.

I definitely turn off lights - and my husband makes fun of me because I don't turn them on until we absolutely have to. My mother always used to tell me to turn off lights and I would think she was a nut, but she would say, just wait until you pay the bill...and she was right. If I can save a few cents by just turning off a light, I am all for it. I also turn off air conditioners if they are in rooms we don't use that much.

I also try to switch off lights when I'm not in the room. If I'm home by myself I sometimes leave the tv or radio on even though I'm in the next room. It comforts me when I'm by myself. Otherwise, I try to conserve as much as I can. The electric and gas bill has been getting more expensive these days.
