Is there a specific day of the week you do your grocery shopping?

I was talking to a friend last night and she said she was glad it was monday because she finally got to go do her grocery shopping...since they were low on food. For myself, our family, we dont really have a day that we go do the grocery shopping....when hubby gets paid, then we go shopping. Money has been tight this year, but last year I did have a day....tuesday mornings, since Mondays were always crazy from people who avoided the stores on the weekends and Wednesdays were senior days where the shuttle would bring in the elderly to do there shopping, so I found that tuesdays worked for me. do you have a day of the week that you go grocery shopping... or has things changed and now your schedule has changed??

I have a 10 minute walk to the shop where I do most of my shopping. I don't have a set day but Friday is the day when there are loads of fresh vegetable and that's the day I would choose to go and do it. If though I run out of things earlier I will go. I prefer to go a couple of times during the week so as not to have heavy bags to carry home though.

I would be the exact same way... if you do your shopping once a week, then you have more to buy and more to carry as well. I wish my area was one where you walk more and have to walk --but its not, its very industrial where I live and you dont want to be out walking by all the main roads!! plus I am out alot during the week and always picking something up!! thanks for the response and have a great day!

That's another of the joys of the job I have working in the evenings. I am free during the day and can go whenever I please without having to rush about either

that is really nice to have all day to get things done... it seems that most people work during the day and do all there running after work... I hate that!! that is one great thing about being a full time mom, I can do my running in the day and not have to fight those crowds!! ..well if I work it out right!!

For me there is not a specific day of the week that I go grocery shopping, I just go when I am running out of the things that I need. I like to go in the evening though because it means that either my husband can go with me or he can stay at home with the kids. I've found that going to the grocery store solo with the kids means that I spend a whole lot more money while I am shopping. Though, of the times that I run to the grocery store, I find that it is the most pleasant on Thursdays because there aren't a lot of people in the store then.

In general, we try to do it on the weekdays on the way to or from work. This saves gas money in the end, and saves us time because we don't have to make a seperate trip for it at some other point.

I always do my grocery shopping on Friday evening, when I finished my job on Friday, I am really excited, there will be a weekend comes, and I really love Friday, so I will go shopping, buy some food for weekend, then I can watch movies on weekend, and enjoy my food. That feels great.

I know that feeling... when I worked in the office, that is how we did it too, not only was friday our pay day so we had the money, but then we would stock up for the weekend and it was the best on the weekend days to go the fridge and have it full!! thanks for the response and have a great night!

I do my shopping anytime I run out of supplies.. the supermarket is just 10 minutes walk from the house...or 5 minutes if I drive.... so I need not worry when I forget stuff...

yep, mine is too... I am five minutes away by car. I wish I could walk it.. but I am by major main roads, and I dont want to take my kids across several main streets to get the to those stores. and I am out alot --always getting something, so if I run out of something, or want something specific for dinner then I run out and get it --if I have the money!! thanks for the response and have a great day!

I don't have specific day of the week to do grocery shopping. I do grocery shopping on the last working day of the month because it's payday lol. It doesn't matter what day is it just as long i have money on hand hehe. Given a change what particular day? EVERYDAY, again money on hand please.. Have a great day!

Indeed! Who can go shopping if you don't have money . Even rich people if they don't have money handy (say, they forgot) or credit card for that matter cannot buy anything. If a poor guy happens to have a few bucks, he can buy something important to him hehe. You're very much welcome...have great week!

hello bookreadermom08, It's not an specific day but we do our grocery shopping during my restday. My restday changes monthly. Have to go with my wife so she can have companion in getting some. This way we can finish it earlier. Soon as we almost done one of us should be in line while the other is still getting things that we need. Teamwork works. If not will finish it late for the line is long.

I do my grocery shopping on Wednesday Nights after church. There is a grocery store in a shopping center on my way home from church where I stop and do my shopping. It's just so convenient. In fact, a lot of people stop in there on their way home from church. It's so funny because I always see people in there I know from church. As one of our deacons put it one time, it's our gathering place, lol, in other words. Kathy.

There is not a set day for me, I just buy things when I really need them. Since I usually work at home now, so I can go shopping anytime I want. And I usually go Walt Marts. But, I have been thinking maybe I should set a day to go, for this can save me some time.

Hi My grocery shopping day used to be Fridays, because that was when I got paid. In February I was laid off when my company closed and I am on unemployment right now, so it tends to be Tuesdays, when I get that paid. I do like Mondays or Tuesdays in the morning if possible as its not crowded! But since losing my job, we are obviously watching money, so I actually tend to shop just for a couple of days ahead, instead of big two week shops, as I find I spend more on stuff we don't need doing a big bulk shop. I live a five minute walk from the supermarket, so I tend to walk by there almost daily and see if any meat is on sale, check their day old bakery and reduced section and I have saved quite a bit doing this, as when things are sold near their use by date I can freeze them.

I usually do my market day (for fresh fish and meat) every Saturday morning since that's when the freshest produce arrive in the market. For groceries, there's no particular day. I usually buy whatever I need on my way home from work since it's on the way
