Long hair or short hair for men?

personally I don't care one way or the other as long as it looks good with the facial features and is kept up well. I think that it all matters what looks best on the person. My hubby has long hair and is often told he looks like the quintessential cowboy, but it works for him better then the short hair.

I like a man with good looking hair and agree that it should flatter the individual more than follow a trend. Right now both my man and my son have long hair and I love it on them. I also like the short, spiky look and bald is up there with my favorites also. However, why leave the ladies out of this discussion? Trendy hair for females is just as absurd as it is for men. Two of my daughters have short hair, up to their ears, and I don't really like it. But it is easy to take care of and a lot of their friends wear it short too, but I can't wait for them to let it grow out.
And, yes, I do let my kids decide on their own how to style their hair.

Hi Zandi! I can sort of understand why men would like short hair, or even a shaved head. It enables them to literally 'get up and go'. The style here if for men with hair that's between 1 and 3 inches long to mouse it and arrange it to have a 'tossled' look. If they hop out of bed and go the way they are...they end up with that look effortlessly. Back in the day, when more men sported long hair, basically they brushed it and tied it back. Most mens hair styles are designed around being easy and time saving to maintain. Obviously they are designed by men FOR men...lol.
Not so with women. We can spend plenty of time getting our hair to look 'just right'. Maybe men planned it that way...who knows?

ur right long hair is good for hiding ugly features and scars on the face...But as a style statement,long hair for men makes them look very feminine and thats not how men should be specially if they want to attract hot girls:D
Men should be man-ish and looking royal and dashing,thats only possible with smart hair locks and neatly combed short or medium hair!! but long I don't like on men!!

I really think for me it depends on the person - I have know guys who looked great with long hair, and other guys who just should not go there!

I suppose its not really for anyone else to judge.

Actually I have seen a photo of my husband when he was younger with long hair and he looks really good, I wouldn't mind if he grew it again 9he won't though...lol)

Though not all you portrait trends did I see myself making the street hot I obviously remember the bell bottoms and the baggies. I was still in my high school when they were making the noise all around and I remember wearing a couple of beggie shirts.

These are all past and now every fortnight pushing the current fashion into the background and new and trendy things are making their ways into the life specially of the teens.

As for long hair for men I think I am not so much competent to comment on this. As this long hair trend is like pop in and pop out I see some people with long hair quite smart and some not suiting into it. Mine is curly hair and have never ever tried to grow it longer and I do not think even if I put them long it would make a poor show.

My beloved had short hair when I met him then for many reasons he grew it out over the last 2 years. I like him better with it short since he's a cutie and looks better that way. But I accepted that he wanted to grow it out. Won't lie and say that I didn't encourage a good haircut tho!
He's getting it cut short again this week and I'll be very happy! Love him with short hair or long but definitely like the short best. I think Men should decide what looks good for them, Bald, Short, Long, whichever they prefer and of course consider what their significant other prefers too! As long as it's well groomed it's a personal preference thing or should be. One of the reasons that Fashion changes constantly is to keep us spending more money!

Its all about how they wear it and it needs to flatter the face shape. Seems to me that most females I know of prefer a short haired man but I've seen many guys that look 10x better with it long and when they get it chopped off it looks sooo goofy and ridiculous on them. If you're going to have long hair take care of it too. I've rarely seen a man with long locks that weren't nasty and greasy looking.

I thought about the matter long hair or short depending on each individual not only in men also in women, may lenghten or shorten their hair juct to follow fashion or trend of the time or it was their own desire to lenghten the hair,but when we look at history, man in ancient times many have long hair,wether it,s because of trends or to show the characteristic themselves,or maybe at the time there was no hair salons or not many people can cut hair;D

Hi zandi, well personally speaking I've always gone for short hair on a man, and never given a consideration as to why. But it has to be dark though. In fact I couldn't even picture the men in my life with long hair, they just wouldn't look like them anymore. Not that I have anything against long hair on a man, in fact two younger acquaintainces of mine both had long flowing black locks which looked great on them and when they both went for the shop they actually looked smaller in height which was a bit weird. But my main priority remains that a man should always have chest hair.
