61 Year old man slaps 2 year old girl in Walmart

I would have flipped out! I can not imagine someone just walking up and smacking a crying child..that's not even theirs! Wow! I would be furious even if I was just a bystander much less a parent. All I can say is WOW!

I am glad that the man was arrested and charged. He had no right doing what he did.
If some one would have done something like that to one of my children i would have reacted on the spot, and he would have had to fight me off of him.

Ok I'm going to be the Devil's advocate here. So you guys are telling me you never have thought "Hey can they shut their kid up?" I'm sorry but a little pat on the mouth does not hurt the child, and I hate how this country thinks that is being "cruel" to a child. That's why we have so many kids that grow up and are spoiled and think they can do whatever they want. This man did not do right, but he is from a generation where they were smacking kids with rulers if they misbehaved in school. Now they say oh child is acting up, they must have ad/hd, let's prescribed them legal speed!!

Wow that is pretty shocking. I'm wondering if the mother said something ignorant to him that made him go through with his threat. Not that I think that makes it right. I think it is horrible and shocking that he would slap a child like that especially one that wasn't his. I wonder if the guy didn't have something mentally wrong with him to set him off like that. I just can't imagine any sane person doing something like that.

I am glad they arrested him and I am surprised that someone did not slap him around a bit. He will pay dearly for his stupid moment.

It's funny you should start this discussion because I just went to Walmart earlier today, lol.

This guy had his nerve, didn't he?! Loud mouthed or crying kids sometimes get on my nerves in Walmart, the grocery store, or wherever but I wouldn't go this far. I don't have any children but I probably would have beaten the guy down, myself. I try to look at things from the parent's perspective the best I can. Think about how embarassed they might be. I am glad the man got arrested for it. I have children and I won't allow any stranger to slap my children.

There are times i think when I hear a strangers child crying "oh would you just shut that child up" but I am not in a position to say something to the child's parents or even to slap the child. If I can't handle hearing a child crying which is not my own, I try to move away as quickly as possible so that I don't have to hear it any more.

Each parent raises their children the best way possible but some times it is best to leave the child crying depending on the situation. Children will eventually stop crying and that man should not done what he did. He had no right to do it.

Whew! I have never heard of that story. How could someone in the prime of his life could have hurt an innocent child at the age of 2. The old man should be more sober now that he is older. On the contrary, he was not and have even hurt the small child. It was good that he was arrested. There must be something wrong with the man. He could be lunatic. If that happened to me, I could have thrown a can of milk to that guy.

Nobody wants to listen to a screaming child, especially somebody else's, and when parents completely disregard their children's outbursts in stores it's infuriating. But if anyone had ever done that to my child I would have handed them their behinds on a platter. It would have been game on.
