Which of the mylot notifications/alerts would you open first in your mail box?

Hi friends, I normally work on mylot through my email account. When I open my email account, I find alerts/notifications for ‘discussions started by my friends’, ‘responses received on my own discussions’ and ‘comments by other mylotters/friends on my responses to their discussions’ and ‘New private message from dear friends’ etc. First of all I open Private Messages and immediately respond to them and then I open the link about ‘comments by mylotters on responses posted by me to their discussions’, then I see responses to my own discussions and thereafter, if I find time, I open the link to new discussions to respond. I just cannot hold on to myself and I love to read comments on my responses and I first read out those interesting comments and if need be make counter-comments, before jumping to other activities. I would like to know what are your priorities, how do you go about, when you work on mylot, is it responses to your own discussions or comments by others on your responses, what do you see first? Please let me know your list of priorities so that I could know are there other friends, who work in the same order, as I do. Many thanks in advance for your responses.

I go through them as they come in. I really do not go through and choose them one by one. I respond to any and all of them that I open as I go down the list of them. I try to answer any and all of them if possible.

Hi Step! It means that you do not go as per priorities, you just keep checking the alerts, as and when they come. Thanks for responding and sharing. Deepak

Hi dpk:) I usually work on mylot through my email account as well. But once I open my email account I usually work on it from the top message down, regardless of what they are.Open each notification in order sometimes even without paying attention to what kind of notification it is. Now I also love to read comments on my responses so sometimes, If I notice a comment to one of my responses or a response to one of my discussions I might open it first, but not always.I do that more when there is a discussion I am particularly interested in.

Hi Sara!!! Your response tells that you check the email alerts as they come to you. However, I've noticed that you do not fail to post your comments/counter-comments so I feel that you check alerts regarding comments too. Many thanks for dropping in and sharing. Have a great day! Deepak

Hi dpk, I always try my best to cope with as much posts as I could while getting on to the net. It would be rather time consuming to read the long list of mylot notification in the mailbox daily. I could do less than ten posts only daily. I’m sorry to say that I couldn’t entertain all my friends by answering all the new discussions started. I will take care of all my discussions by adding comments in them. So I never let go any new response available in the mailbox. I like to have continual comments if there are still some ideas to share with. Therefore I would read the alerts related to comments in the discussions I had responded as well. Due to the limited time working at mylot, I always pick the topics which are rather easy for me to cope with randomly I usually would pick new discussions from "friends started" area after finishing the prior ways of doing mylot post. This is why I'm always not one of the responders in the first page of my friends' discussions I believe it's still helpful, as the belated response could boost the discussion to move forward further more. Hope you like my belated post here as well lol.... Happy posting and take care!

I am totally disorganized in this aspect if I have opened my mail box after a considerable lapse of time. Then there would be a huge number .I think I would go to commenting on a response first because there is a sense of duty.Sometimes when there are many responses I go to the discussion page and go about it in an organized fashion. Then it would also be some peeping into a discussion started by friends.I may even start responding [it would give me a change of topic]to one or two discussions by friends. But ultimately I would come back to my own and continue commenting on my discussion topic and the responses I got .I do not get too many private messages.

b]Hi Kala![/b]!! It means that you read the comments first and if need be post your comments/counter-comments on the discussions started by you. You check the discussions started by your friends, afterwards or may be at last. I hope for this discussion, you had finished other tasks, then you opened and responded to it. I prefer seeing comments first, before checking other mails. Many thanks for dropping in sharing. Have a great weekend! Deepak

I almost always check first the responses I get whether for discussions I started or discussions I responded. I love an interactive discussion and so I make sure I always check my inbox for responses and comments I receive. To do that I have to be more organized with my inbox folders. I have one folder for responses and comments I receive and another one for discussions my friends started. This way I don't get muddled up.

Yea, I like to multitask and so it's important that I have an organized system. But unfortunately, it's the case all the time. I may be organized in my inbox folders but if you come to my house you will see mess all around.

Hi Jemina!!! Your response tells that you check the responses to your own discussions/other discussions. It is good that you organise the comments and responses in different folder, I think it helps you a lot to organise. Many thanks for dropping in and sharing. Have a great weekend! Deepak

Hi dpk, I pretty much do exactly what you do! I answer my notifications from my email in the same order! I like to first read the comments from the discussions that I responded to! Then if I have any personal messages I will read them. If I have a discussion that I have started then that is where I will start responding to the responses by adding my comments. And when I am finished with all of that I will then go back to the email to check on the discussions that my friends have started for that day! I try to keep up with it day by day so that it doesn't get to piled up! If it does then I have to go through the emails and decide which discussions I will respond to depending on how many days old the discussions are!

Hi Opal!!! Congratulations (in advance) as you are going to touch the magic figure of 9000 posts. Oh! At last I found a friend, who follows the same drill, as I do. Your response tell that you check the comments to the responses posted by you and then comes the turn of PMs. Then you turn to responses to your own discussions. I appreciate your policy of disposing of discussions of friends on day to day basis, otherwise, I agree with you, it gets piled up and sometimes, we do not find time to answer to our friends' old posts. Many thanks for dropping in and sharing. Have a great weekend! Deepak

Hi Deepak, I will tell you my routine. I am not receiving much PM (very rarely) and if there is any PM I will check it first then I may check the comments. I will check the responses of my own but just check who send it and will read it later in mylot page only. Regarding notifications on new discussions if I am free then only I open the same and respond it otherwise just check it who people are started if there is a close friend’s name I may open the same and find it on which topic she/he started but responding depends on my time.

For me it all depends, if there are a lot of new discussions from friends I try to read those first, though sometimes I will see a comment on a response that I really loved making, so I'll go to see what others or the discussion starter themselves, said about that. Then after going to new discussions, I'll go to comments, and then to my own discussions' responses. Then again, sometimes I won't have time to do anything but respond to those who have made new discussions! My inbox stays full! I don't mind in the least though as it is fun to mylot! Well Have a wonderful day!

Hi Chaitra! It means that 'responses' to your own discussions are important to you and you like to read first, what others have to say, then come the turn of comments. I prefer seeing comments first, before plunging on to other things. Many thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend!

I deal with Private Messages first which bring me to sign in and from there I deal with friends request, check my earnings and go back to my email account where I will read and/or respond to comments first. After this I will read and reply to my responses and lastly I will respond to friends’ discussions.

Hello deepak! Like you, I open my private messages first and check if I can reply to any one of them and then read all those responses to my discussion and comment on it and next respond to my friends discussions.

Hi Deepak! I usually look at my PMs and friend requests first. Then I go to discussions I started to respond to those that have responded to them. Then I go to friends started and answer those. If I have a comment on one of my responses, I usally read and respond to those first thing.

Hi deepak, well this will make me sound really shallow as I open the best responses first as they make me smile, but I always go right in and thank them. I delted all responses to my own as I'll see them later on my started list, I check messages but save them for later, I look at the cments back and if they are useless I delete them and if they are good I save them to go back into later, then I look at friends new disc and delete the ones I won't be replying to and then my mail is in a nice looking shape.

Hi thea!!! Congratulation to you on crossing 2000 posts mark. Your response tell that you check the best response notification first of all. I also open the mail indicating 'best response', first of all, before doing anything else, I forgot to mention this in my discussion. It always feels great to know that I've been awarded the best response and I cannot hold on to myself to see whose discussion it was and who awarded me the best response. How do you save the mail to check the same at a later stage? I prefer seeing comments to my responses, after checking BR alerts. Many thanks for dropping in sharing. Have a great weekend!

I log into the home page Deepak and that gives me an overview of the discussions in mylot. From that point i go to friends discussions and only then to the tab of my discussions. Messages normally i get to read through the emails.

Hi Alok! It means that you do not log in to mylot through your email account, you directly open mylot home page (which I think many others also do) and check the discussions started by your friends and then your own discussions. Many thanks for joining and sharing. Wish you a very happy weekend! Deepak

I always look for the new discussions that my friends have started, and try to respond to as many of those as I can, and then I go and look at the responses I have received on my own discussions. it's great when sites like MyLot and Gather send these notifications. It's a great way to keep track of all this stuff.

Good morning Deep! Good question you pose today! I start by reading all the responses on my own dicussions. I open them but do not comment back immediately. I then open any comments on responses I have left on discussions by others and in most cases I comment back again there and then. I can usually find something to add to the comment. Then I move to private messages. I leave these until later because there will usually be some exchanges back and forth that will take place, especially if the user is online at the time. Last but not least I open notifiers of discussions started by my friends and then the arduous task of where to atart gets underway. That is when the time starts just flyinng past and in next to no time the morning has vanished!

Hi mydiana!!! It means that you would first prefer to read responses to your own discussions and then you check the 'comments' on the responses, you have left. I know it very well that you do not fail to post your comments/counter-comments on the response and also post your sub-comments, wherever you feel like. Thereafter comes the turn of discussions started by your friends, hope for this discussion, you had finished other tasks, then you opened and responded to it. nI prefer seeing comments first, before checking other mails. Many thanks for dropping in sharing. Have a great weekend! Deepak

I am very disorganized in this area. I just open my inbox and check the emails received one by one. If I am not interested in responding for whatever reason I just delete the notification and go on to the next email. Ofcourse if I see a notification for a PM then I read that first.

I check the comments on the discussion I responded too first then I check response to the discussion I started so I can then respond to it. Then I check discussion started by my friends next.
