But the egg is not a evolution. It may be evolved from something that dont lay eggs. That animal evolves in to a chicken and starts to lay eggs.

something would have had to lay the egg and when the egg started to form genetically into whatever it was supposed to be it would have mutated. probably many stages of mutations to get to what we now know as a chicken.. I dont know if that's exactly how it works, but the thing laying the egg (or giving birth to a new form of live to generalize) would have to differ from whatever came from the egg, or was born.. right?

Evolution is a very very slow process remember? In the egg, the life is very less timings. Only that animal ouside lives in the long time. So, the evolution is happen in the animal only...

db, I think your wrong.. The genetics of the chicken have already been determined! They are determined during fertilization of the egg.. That's when the dna tells the cells how to organize themselves and what to develop the egg into..

i was making the point that in order to mutate, something in the dna has to change.. and once your dna is mapped out, if your a person and egg or a chicken, its mapped out. it doesn't change.. so evolution, no matter how slow the process is, takes place in the genetics, and dna.. which are determined when the egg is fertilized and the cells of a living organism start to develop..
