Any vampire fictions or series worth reading? |
|
Ever since I found Twilight, I fell in love with vampire fictions. Recently, I also discovered the series "the House of Night", which also seems really awesome. Do you have any other vampire book recommandations? I'm sure a lot other people like vampire books as well.

Blood and Chocolate - Annette Curtis Clause . It's actually a book about a "werewolf" chick who falls in love with a mortal. It's actually really good! It used to be one of my most favorite books; and it's way better than my lame description of it. You should check it out! It reminds me of Twilight mainly because of the contrast in characters; and the whole idea of "opposites attracting". Definitely a good read!
In The Forests of the Night - Amelia Attwater-Rhodes (I might be spelling this wrong). I know this is another series, and I can't quite remember if they've vampires necessarily - but I remember really loving these books when I was back in high school.
Daughters of the Moon - Lynn Ewing. This is another series that isn't necessarily about vampires, but it's a teen series about supernatural girls.. It's very cool stuff! I think there might be like one vampire in the later series.
At any rate, I hope my suggestions help you out. I know they're not really totally vampire-related, but hopefully you're open-minded! They're aweosme books!

| AmuletGirl (72) | 4 months ago | Thanks for the great suggestions! Oh yes, Dracula, of course I remember it. But I don't know if I'll have the patience for old-fashioned language though. I just remember I had a hard time reading Hunchback of the Notre Dame XD Thanks though!

Stephen King's Salem's Lot is a great book but don't expect any teen romance vampires in that one. Truly a horror story.
My favourite of all is Terry Pratchett's Carpe Jugulum.

5. grandpa_lash (1713) | 4 months ago | I have to say I found Twilight extremely disappointing - aimed at romantic teenage girls. Ann Rice is probably the one you should read, but after Twilight you will find it extremely adult. Carpe Jugulum, as mentioned above, is an hilarious approach from the world's premier satirical humourist, Terry Pratchett. Igor (and in one case Igorina) appears in several other Pratchett books as well.

| AmuletGirl (72) | 4 months ago | Thanks Lash! I agree that Twilight isn't the best book in the world, but it's the book that got me started on the whole vampire thing. Before, I only Harry Potter fan. Twilight made me realize that scary beings like vampires can be fun to read about as well. Thanks again!

They are by Gerry Bartlett. They are based in Texas too! Love them. The first one is called Real Vampires Have Curves.
