Some people forget Thanksgiving comes before Christmas!  

well, here in canada, our thanksgiving is in early october so it is over and we can start planning for christmas. we do the same as you, we celebrate thanksgiving with our family and friends. we should not be thankful just on thanksgiving, but all year round.

I love Thanksgiving as well. For the past couple of years, we've rented a house at the beach for two weeks and family and friends are welcome to join us as their work schedule permits. I don't usually cook dinner on that day but we get a prepared turkey with all of the trimmings from one of the local markets. It's a time for us to give thanks for our wonderful friends and family and to give them a little pre Christmas gift. I just realized that Thanksgiving is just a month away. Happy holidays

I don't forget Thanksgiving, but I live in the UK. people here don't have the festival.

So now my husband and I just start our Christmas shopping. I don't know why he's so excited with Christmas. he has many plans for the festival. We already bought two box candy(maybe I should say sweet, my husband told me to British it's sweet, just American say candy, he's English).By the way we also ordered on line two tickets of Magic Number show on December.

This made me look forward to Xmas. However I will tell him to see if we can have a Thanksgiving festival too.

I do agree with you. Alot of my family and friends will start talking about christmas in august or september. Then when the end of october comes every year whoever is putting on thanksgiving for the family starts to freak out for those last few weeks getting ready and then when christmas comes it seems to be no rush because there was already enough time spent on it. I know exactly what you mean.

I do enjoy spending time with my family for Thanksgiving and I am very thankful for the family that I have. I have already started buying Christmas presents because my husband and I have big families and have lots of people to buy for. So I am ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

People forget to walk, not run through life. And all the stores are pushing Christmas, before Halloween. We need to walk slowly, enjoy each day to the fullest, and not run ahead. Great post dear.

It really spoils it for me to see Christmas decorations and Christmas commercials up this early. It doesnt seem as special when it is shown out of season.
Anyway, on to thanksgiving...
My family gets together for thanksgiving. Everyone brings a dish, usually a home made dish. We sit down together and eat. We dont eat at a table since we do not own a table big enough to eat together at...there are too many people in the family to fit every one at a table.

I just soon postpone worrying about Christmas. As much as I'd love to really indulge everyone...I can't. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and getting together with all my daughters and brothers and nieces & nephews...grandkids. I have to work later on that day but we will all get together earlier. It's always a good time for us. Christmas isn't much different. It is mostly based around the family get-together. It's me....I really really want to do more than I can afford which is next to nothing.

one should celebrate thanksgiving with friends and family and we should forgive others on this days.

I love Thanksgiving too. Being with friends and family and sharing a great meal is wonderful and you are right - it's the perfect time to catch up and enjoy the day!
