Which do you prefer, paper dictionary or online dictionary, please?

I actually use both the hard copy dictionary and the online one. If my computer is on, I will just check the word online, but when it is off, I find it easier to just flip the pages of the dictionary instead of turning my computer on. Both are helpful.

I prefer paper dictionary. I feel like it really gets my mind working and i remember the definition. I feel that if i take the time to get up get the dictionary flick through the pages to find the word i am looking for that i will remember it a lot better than if i just type it in on a computer. Also i have found for some odd reason that computer dictionaries dont have every word in it. Its kind of strange.

I like the online dictionary as it is alot quicker than having to flick through pages of writing where as when you get it up on the computer it is found as soon as you have typed it in.Saves alot of time looking for the words as well as the meanings as well.

depends,if the need arises while i am working on computer then i would be lazy enough to go and check in the paper dictionary so online dictionary does fine that time otherwise i use the paper one.

hello Williamjisir,i always use online dictionary once i had my own laptop,and my English dictionary was thrown into the cabinet.
now,we read e-books and articles online,write blogs or diaries online,watch movies or serials online,it is convenient to use online dictionary.
To check the meaning of one word,just click the word on the blank and the answer will be seen in one minute,it is more quicker and easily than the English dictionaries.
i like to use iciba as my online dictionary,sometimes i use Lingoes.

I perfer to use paper dictionary,although it is inconvenience,it provide more details and i would remember more about the words after consulting them from a paper dictionary.it is no doubt that online dictionary is much more convenience to look up words,however,i often skip the details when look up some words online.so i like a paper dictionary much better nowadays.

I use the online thing more than the paper back dictionary. Simply because I am frequently online and it's just under my fingertips, as for opening a dictionary, looking through it, it's better to just type the word itself and press enter and wah-lah! No need to sing the Alphabet there. Hehehe..

But I do have a pocket size dictionary that goes well when the computer isn't on or when I have problems connecting to the internet.

I would have to say I use the online dictionary. Don't need to refer to it much unless I am really puzzled by the meaning of a word. Spelling I have under control unless I get in a hurry and get ahead of my keyboard. The English language is suppose to be one of the hardest languages to learn because of the various meanings and spelling for many words that are pronounced the same.

I've been used to the paper dictionary since i was in grade school. I enjoyed and really had fun finding the words and selecting the best meaning but when dictionary became available online-- i will make my life easier this time for using the online dictionary.

I feel online dictionary is easier to look at. But you have to sit before the computer and power must be there. Paper dictionary means you can sit on a cot, lean backwards and conveniently see it though power is not there. So each one has got its' own conveniences.
