15 or so inches of SNOW! What do YOU do on SNOW DAYS? Or what WOULD you DO?

i'd let the kids go out and play for as long as they wanted,then i'd turn up the heating and sit by the window and watch them play

I really do love it when it snows and unfortunately it doesn't snow so often in the UK. Last winter however it was brilliant because we had one of the heaviest snowfalls we have had in 20 years. It was so much fun - we played, made a snowman, watched lots of movies indoors and generally enjoyed one another's company. It feels really cosy when it is snowing outside.

When we were kids, we used to get snow days. Of course, we rarely got that much snow. It was just that we lived in the mountains and if it snowed just a little bit, the town pretty much closed down. That was because on the curvy mountain roads it was too risky for anyone to get out and go anywhere.

I would usually play Monopoly with my brother and sisters. Or sometimes my neighbors would come over and play the game with us. It is funny that game is still popular after all of these years. I was never the best at it. Maybe it was because I was the youngest of the kids, maybe it just wasn't my game.

We also had a number of other games. As a gift each year for Christmas most people usually just got us kids a game, so we had more than a 6 foot shelf completely full. My oldest sister still has all of those games, plus more to this day.

We would also go sledding. It was really fun with all of those hills. We usually used a rutter sled. My friend and I had the fastest because we always took such good care of ours. We would sand down the rutters and soap them down. That was the most fun. If there was too much snow to sled, then we would jump on a big innertube from a coal truck tire. You would be surprised how many people we could pile on one of those tires. It was great!

If at all possible, I would just stay home and keep occupied online, while listening to songs like "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!". That is a way of tolerating the snow. If not possible to stay home, then I have to go our ofcourse. I mean to work. Wearing very warm clothes, driving very varefully, and walking slowly!
Let it snow!! Ha ha!

I remember those days before we moved here to Tennessee. I am so glad that we do not get it here like that. I do not like the cold at all.

I think that you have mentioned just about everything that we did when we could not get out. Hopefully it lets up and you can get out again soon.

Ohhh, I love the first big snowfalls of the year, and we haven't gotten ours yet. I associate snow days with a slow-down in the hectic pace of life. It's a time when things can be put on hold with no guilt, a time to do cozy indoor things with family, or go outside and embrace that weather, walk in it, build a snowman...lovely things like that!

If the snow conditions are right, we build snowmen and snow forts. We might challenge someone else to a good old fashioned snowball fight. When we're all played out we go in for hot chocolate.

I hate snow! lol

It's fun when you're young, not when you could break a hip on the driveway.

I'll stay inside and warm up the chocolate...and dry the mittens for everyone.

too as I left South Dakota to come to California. so we
don't know what we would do, probably stay inside, make cocoa
and have some chocolate and play monopoly and scrabble and I would just get on the internet myself.

On snow days i always stay at home and watching TV or reading a book for i thought it's warmful to do this kind of things.Ther colder the outside,the warmer the insider is in contrast with.I love the feeling of stay in a very warm place juring the cold weathers.It interesting and have a lot of fun of course i have called some friends go out and playing in the heavy snow world.But it happens only once or two.I am a lazy bone
