Remember a few years back when everyone was doing the Italian charm bracelets? I just found mine today after misplacing it a while back. I had bought some charms at a craft sale a year ago and today just put them on....I still love the bracelet...I love the charms and what is says about my way of thinking and about my life....did you get an Italian charm bracelet when they were a rage? Do you still wear it if you did?

Yes I had one. I used to try to find charms everywhere I went. I wanted each charm to not only say something about me, but to also remind me of where I'd been. I bought some at flea markets, garage sales, craft sales, fairs, things like that. I remembered exactly where I'd gotten each one. I also ordered one charm off e-bay... the charm said "Nucking Futs" I loved that one, it was my favorite. I don't wear it anymore, mostly because I let it sit around too long and now it's not connecting properly and would hurt if I tried to put it on. I think the bracelet is still in my van though... sitting on the dash board.

My foster mom had a lot of these types of sayings. She'd say "Drain Bramaged" and "Famn Damily". I won't even tell you some of the others because they get worse!

When I was younger I always envied the girls who had charm bracelets. I wanted one so badly. Eventually I outgrew the need. My girls never got into it either. But, I often think I would still like to start one...maybe for my granddaughter.

These were different then regular charm bracelets....but speaking of getting one for your granddaughter....well the last gift I got from my grandpa was a bracelet with a heart charm.....with my birthstone in it....and my name engraved on it....I still have it.....and that was over 50 years ago!

Some friends gave me charms before, but I don't fancy using them as ornaments in my body. I keep them in a box. I'm not fond of jewelry too. They limit my movement. I know it's just a feeling but I don't feel comfortable wearing them. Happy mylotting and happy weekend.

For some reason I don't remember the Italian charm bracelets. Might have been during the time when I was raising kids. Those years were totally consumed chasing 3 girls around the house and being their cab driver.

No I never had one of these. However, a friend gave me a few years ago a special charm bracelet that has a cross next to a - now I have forgotten the name - the Jewish symbol for carrying a piece of the Torah? Sorry cannot remember the name. does it begin with a T? Then there are coloured stones as charms that represent the Psalm 'The Lord is my shepherd is a white stone. He leadeth me to lie down in green pastures is a green one. It is called an inter faith charm bracelet and I just so love it. she is Jewish and we are very close friends
