Bang! Bang! Bang! Oh My G. Who's shooting at us?  

hi ElicBxn oh my I come in a poor second after my son,
he is an excellent cook, guess he got that from his
father as he was also a very good cook. My sister,well
I just expected way too much from her. Her idea of watching
something was just that, stand and watch it.

oh dragon I could have kicked myself as I should have
known she really did not understand. oh I had a similar
accident with a glass coffee carafe. for no reason that
we could figure out, it was full of coffee and it just
exploded as I walked into the kitchen. I had scalding
coffee on both hands, but I remembered to put them
under cold running water at once. Of course there was glass and coffee all over the floor. it made a loud noise too.

hi catdla1 oh we were both scared until we saw what it really
was, I had never known eggs would explode like that.
At work in the library one of my coworkers had a potato incident like that too, she had no idea of how long to bake the potato in the microwave so she set for too long a period. boy what a mess she had to clean up, and you could smell scorched potato all over the library.

hi tina I also learned something that day . You boil eggs too long and the darned things go dry and then explode.what a mess, and the kitchen reeked of that scorch egg smell. It was awful
and I was putting baking soda all over trying to get rid
of the burnt odor.

hi geminikid oh yes the microwave sure doesn't like metallic
paper at all. we had a fire at work one day in our microwave
in the staff kitchen.this really smart new research librarian'
had put something microwaveable in the microwave, and it too'
had a metallic wrapper on it. I guess she did not know that
you just cannot do that. but what surprised us was that she saw
the thing sort of pop and something was burning.yet she just stood there and yelled, help fire. so our only male librarian rushed in, grabbed the fire extinguisher and put out the fire. Oh
I forgot to mention the girl was five months pregnant, so I guess it was the hormones that rattled her so. Anyway it really did
destroy the microwave, so we got a new microwave out of that mishap.

hi gardengerty I sure did not know that eggs like that would really explode.sure learned two things that day, eggs will explode if cooked too long, and that my sister was just not smart enough to let her cook anything. one day years later I put a one serving pizza in the oven and I really did forget it.I was mylotting too at the time. the smell of scorching sure got me in to the kichen fast. The pizza looked like a black frisbee.

oh lichee__ china you are so right,I should have known not
to let her help in the cooking at all. well I did learn two
things that do,do not overcook eggs else they will explode
and two. my sister was not capable of handling cooking chores at all.

hi zenstrive oh yes and I did not really realize it until
it was too late. She seemed to think that watch the eggs
just meant to stand and watch them. If it had not been so
scary and made such a mess I could almost have laughed
but at that time it sure did not seem a bit funny.

hi jerzgirl my mom had the same thing happen to her only
she was making beef stew.She had beef chunks and carrots and
onions on the ceiling, all over the stove and on the floor.
she got one hand burned but it was just a minor burn. I
ran in but was too late to stop it. I had one too , but
after that I never did use it. I am really afraid to use
the thing.

sanjans__aslam My son tried to make soft boiled eggs in
the microwave and it did the same thing as he went off
to his room, he said just for a minute but he was on thecomputer,,and the minute was just too long .He
had one huge egg mess to clean up.
