The new drunk driving - do you do it?

You must be kidding me. You just sat there, listening to your friend, and you didn't react at all? Believe me, I would have made his life a living hell. Imagine the grief and pain that he/she would enter you, your common friends, his/her family etc. Let him/her know that he/she is irresponsible, and has to be ashamed of it. Driving while thein the influence of alcohol (or drugs), is dangerous. And don't just think that you might guys get hurt. Think that in an accident could be involved more than one cars. And the others had done no harm to you. Why hurt them?

Absolutely not! If I want to use the phone, I'll wait until its safe to stop the car. Its not just texting or using the phone though... I have seen people drinking mugs of coffee, reading newspapers, applying make-up, tying their tie, using both hands to light cigarettes etc etc.

It's all about weak time management in one's life. There is nothing wrong with that little device as it is very useful for both good and bad life activities. What I can say if the cell phone owner received or made too many calls, it means, the owner got lots of problems in their life and weak point in life management. The very true and through indicator.

I've been tempted once or twice i must admit to send out a quick message when ihave not been able to take the call while driving. But then the good common senses prevail, after i remember the number of times that i've given the other drivers a dirty look or mumbled something to them for doing being preoccupied with thiers phones instead of concentrating while driving. So stop where i can and am permitted to, send out the message and then carry on.

Nice to see you here again. Was I gone too long or was it you? Anyways, I don't text/call over the cell phone whenever I'm behind the wheel. When someone is in the car with me, say my kids or friends, I let them read the message, if it's really important I try to stop somewhere safe and make a call. So the slogan has been rephrased, it's now "texting and drinking don't mix".

Oh yeah.. I didnt see the relation until you pointed it out. I mean I havent heard of news of alcoholic drunk driving for a while now. But I have heard a lot of news reports about texting while driving related accidents. It would be really worse if the driver was drunk and was still attempting to text people that he was either coming home or yet going to another party to get even more drunk.

I think texting while driving is even more dangerous then drunk driving because in texting we are aware of our surroundings so we might think that we wouldnt be able to get into accidents since we are alert. We just dont realize that texting is a huge distraction from watching the roads. We might even mistake a shadow for a person.

I think texting or talking on cellphone while driving our vehicle is highly dangerous and it could be fatal for ourselves and for others also. I sometimes get shock of my life to see when young boys and girls driving their bikes with one hand and holding and talking on cell phones with their other hand. The thought of accident shudders me, if by chance these people lose coordination between their driving and cell phone talking. God saves them and give them some wisdom that talking/texting on cell phone is a great hazard, while driving. If there is any urgency to text or talk, let them stop for few minutes (may be on the busy road) and make a call.

I am not to sure if we can class it as bad as Drink driving to be honest
I do not do it I will pull over if I really need to text but when I drive there is no need to text
I still think drink driving is worse though lol

Go watch the PSA on you tube about texting & driving...I made my kids watch it, even the hard to look at parts. Even my 23 yr old said he would never text while driving again.

It amazes me to see what some people do while they're driving these days! I've seen people drinking coffee AND texting at the same time while speeding down the highway and it blows my mind! They must be steering with their knees or something??? I remember reading about tests conducted on phone users while they were driving and although I don't recall the exact figures, their concentration levels diminished considerably when they were using their phone. It's a scary thought!
