'Better Late than Never' |
|
It must have escaped my attention that one particular discussion that I started 5 months ago with many responses but without my comments. I don't mean to wash my hands off from my obligations as the starter of a discussion to leave my posts un-commented. I make sure that those who join in my discussions are well taken care of.
I only come to realize it when I was trying to resolve some of my long standing discussions and the need to award BR. Thousand apologies for those who took great pains to respond only to receive no response from me at that material time. Maybe it was the time when I started few discussions at once which have messed up the whole thing. So don't be unduly surprise to get my reply for your response to my discussion that you have long forgotten. This is an isolated case. Do you go back to your old discussions that you have started few months back and comment on the responses? Or you just leave it as a gone case and take chance that the responders do not remember it?

1. thea09 (4128) | 4 weeks ago | Hi Zandi, always better late than never. I have a system which is not 100% reliable but works most of the time. I regularly at random move a couple of discussions at a time from the unresolved list when I consider them closed, making sure at the time that there are no loose ends. After that new responses move the discussion high in the started list so are easy to spot. The ones which always catch me unawares though are responses back to comments already given as if they go on later it is hard to keep track and I regularly find ones which are a few weeks old. I don't always respond anyway to a second response but some I would have wanted to and then I do it very late.

zandi458 (5718) | 4 weeks ago | I always get latecomers to my discussions which is good as any new response will bring up the discussion again and get exposed.

4. sudiptacallingu (7052) | 4 weeks ago | I am actually feeling so bad now…I have so many unresolved discussions and now I feel so utterly selfish for leaving them just like that. I start very few discussions mainly coz they rob me of time to respond to other’s more interesting topics…so whenever I have started discussions, its only coz I was in dire straits and needed solid neutral advise. Friends here have been absolutely wonderful in providing my not only practical advise but support and kind words too! They have been my source of sustenance when I was really down and I have replied back to every one of them, as long as the content of the discussion mattered to me. Gradually however, the discussions lost their importance and faded from my memory…I never awarded a BR only and only coz I did not want to choose between so many equally wonderful answers. And now when I see somebody has responded to a discussion I started about a year back, I really don’t go back and respond…maybe I should but I feel that I would be doing better if I responded to a discussion started by the same person instead of responding to her in my year old discussion!

6. manong05 (2932) | 4 weeks ago | Yes, it's better late than never. I am guilty of this too in many ways. Two days ago one discussion I posted 3 years ago resurfaced and there was a response there that I was not able to comment back. I hesitated to write a comment for the simple reason that the person might not be active anymore like in many cases. 3 years is such a long time. But I commented anyway though not really expect that the person will notice it. But a few seconds after I made a comment, the user replied back and he was surprised too. I imagine his face commenting back with eyes wide open .....after all this time. LOL
No, nothing here is too late.
cheers!

Hatley (20097) | 4 weeks ago | hi fellowmylotters can you imagine how many I had to go back and comment on when I got stranded for financial reasons and could not get to my computer for almost 11 months? I had a humongous number of discussions to comment on all of them, but when mylot was off line awhile back I got busy and got mostly caught up. a great feeling.

8. reeyan (423) | 4 weeks ago | Hi zandi458
It is hardly possible to attend all the discussion and response. As you are so long in my lot I think you have the haphazard to comment and comment back all. Some time some discussion so may be ignored. I am very new in this site. And I am not to familiar with other member. Moreover I think I am little sincere too. But in this very short period With a very few discussion I am unable to justify with all. So if you unable to comment to the responses is justified. More over from the very short period of myloting I can guess that you are a very responsible myloter. So though that very (I have not read that discussion till now, but have desire to read)discussion is not commended by use I think it is not your ignorance but I know for some inevitable reason you perhaps can't do that. Its my feelings . Just a simple feelings of me.

reeyan (423) | 4 weeks ago | Hi
But it is very very tough task you decide to do mam. So many discussion you have sent here. Now you want the desire to attend each and every response. Some have responded on comment too. So I appreciate your determination. you are welcome ... but very very tough. I think so. My personal feelings.

9. raiyandhaka (309) | 4 weeks ago | first i like to see who started discussion,if its started by my ' mylot' friend, i like to give them preference. and if i feel that the discussion subject is good and i have minimum idea on it,i try to share my idea and it and put my response. if any discussion are going old, but subject is well known and easy to me,i like to go back to make post on this type discussion, while i feel mood to write. no matter how long back or old of it. honestly say, some time i expect response on my started discussion from friend, but not at all, i believe every one have own choice and are not bound to make response on my discussion. but again with response from friend, i really feel smiley and feel proud for them. try honor them so,try post something, what i can to their response too.
