What would be your reaction IF...?

That is unacceptable. Sporting events and tv shows are scheduled in advance. I would be more open to it if it was the day before but not at that moment!

I personally would be pissed off...we have a dvr so he could tape whatever he wanted to watch and watch it when we get home from our date night....just like I would never use the excuse that I wanted to be home to watch something because I can tape it and just watch it a couple of hours later, it's not like watching it later is going to change what happened in the show.

these is a common happening especially if happen there fave team is on d game.....my reaction that since our date is cancelled i just ask him if i can watch the game with him....

I can Wait for another night, that would be one way that i can show how much i love her. Definitely one way to show how you love a woman/partner.

hi vanillarey Have you ever heard the word compromise? well that is what I would do if my husband wanted to cancel our special evening for a sports event, okay we will go out the next evening if you dont mind my staying home when the last episode of my faorite t.v. show is on, we love each other so we compromise,we change our plans, they are never nailed down in concrete.

I would be extremely angry! First of all, to even consider doing that to a person that you supposedly care about or love is rude, inconsiderate and unfeeling.
I know things happen that make plans change. Kids get sick, sitters cancel, money is tight, etc...but for a television show or a ball game? I don't think so!
My husband would NEVER consider doing this to me, and I certainly wouldn't do it to him!
We've been married 23 years, we have learned a little something about how to treat each other.

Thank god my man values our time together and doesn't even really like sports and I dont watch tv. That said the only acceptable reason for cancelling a night together is sickness or an emergency. If I'm sick, I expect him to be there taking care of me! And if there's an emergency I expect him to be helping and being supportive. Vice versa for if that happens to him.

I would be terribly hurt. There is nothing that could ever come on TV that I would have to watch if I had something special planned with my husband. I'm a firm believer that we have to mentally go back to the time when we were dating and think about what I would do then. I doubt anyone would cancel a special date because of a special TV event with their significant other early on in their relationship. The relationship should come first, always.

If it was a spur of the moment thing that I wanted to do with my husband and he had already planned to watch a game or TV show that was special to him, that would be different. We could actually plan the date around that or even make it part of the date.

Unacceptable. If you want to love me, you should love me. If you plan a date with me the only excuses you can get away with are hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis...lol. Only joing, but that's the sum of what I mean. Sport comes later, you can do that later, watch that later, record it somewhere, read the news the day after, but you ought to want to be with me. Even just raising this problem in a relationship means there is a big problem.
