One problem that is so painful to sit on it, really email this discussion to a friend?

myLot reputation of 94/100. neildc (3508)   ranked 1 out of 108 in not interested at all1 month ago

It's more than a week now that I can't go online and make more posts. Some wonders why or what happened to me and they don't see me often on here. This makes me unproductive even in the office and at home.

Well, for over a week now, I am suffering from great pains and I can sit properly. I can't just sit straight for even a minute. I have to keep standing rather than sitting, so I can't concentrate doing what I have to do in front of the computer. I also can't sit properly while driving my motorcycle because I can only sit on the right side.

The problem started with just a simple itchy sensation at one side of my buttocks. On the next day, it swells and turned out to be a pimple, as what I thought it was. Later on, it grew so big and as of this moment, its size is about 2 inches (about 60mm). This is really, really painful and embarrassing.

I am taking antibacterial for 5 days now. I thought it will get smaller and later on will disappear. But it didn't.

Today, it's still there and still have the pains, so I thought of going to my doctor to check it and if it can be removed now. I really want to move normally, again, so I can work, sit, walk, the way I should be, normally.

But the problem now that I have is, I have no money to pay for the doctor's fees. Too bad.

So, I will just ask help from you, my dear mylot friends, any suggestions to treat this. Anyone of you have this kind of problem or have you had things like this in the past?

By the way, I have read something about "boils", "furuncles", "carbuncles" and "pigsa" (in filipino language. Can you add some ideas about these skin problems?

Hi Neil. Oh, I feel so bad for you! That must be awful. I've never had this particular problem but I've heard plenty. I can offer a suggestion that might help, though.

When my sister was alive, she got sties on her eyelids quite often. She also got boils under her arm. We treated her, aside from the antibiotics she got from the doctor, with a warm tea bag. Something in the tea, most likely the tannic acid, has a drawing affect and literally draws the infection out.

If you boil a tea bag, cool it down so it is tolerable on the skin, then place it on the infection and hold it in place with tape or some other means of keeping it in place for about 15 minutes or so, then make sure to have a thick gauze or cotton bandage to absorb the infection as it comes out. This truly does work! It's the only thing we did for my sister's problems. I think one time it needed to be lanced because it had closed up before the infection came out but other than that, the teabag treatment was all she had, aside from the antibiotics.

Also, try to get a lot of vitamin C to help boost your immune system. If you have echinacea, that would help, too, but the tea bag will do more to rid your body of the infection than anything other than the antibiotics.

I hope you heal soon! I know this has to be miserable for you!

Oh! I should have added that if the boil/carbuncle or whatever it is hasn't opened yet to drain, the tea bag will speed up the process and bring the infection to the surface. It really is a wonder drug besides being a healthy drink.

thanks, marti, for the suggestion. i am also trying this one. i hope this will help to heal this fast. by the way, i am still taking antibiotics until this time, so i hope i will get better pretty soon.

myLot reputation of 98/100. mentalward (4269)   ranked 29 out of 108 in not interested at all  1 month ago

I hope the antibiotics start working soon. I know they can take awhile sometimes, especially if the infection is a bad one.

When I was pregnant with my second son, I had hemmorhoids so bad that I could not sit straight in the last month of my pregnancy. I ate Christmas dinner kind of lounging on the sofa, almost lying down. It was awful not to be able to sit without pain so I can feel your pain.

Right now, I'm pretty sure I have that swine flu. I thought I had it before but now, thinking back, I did not have the right symptoms then. I do now. I've read about the symptoms of the swine flu and, yep, I have them. I don't feel really bad; it is a rather mild flu. I have congestion in my chest and a very heavy feeling in it. I have a slight fever and chills but nothing to be concerned about. I just take aspirin and I feel better. Other than a very low energy level, that's about it.

As you know, I took my son to the hospital last Wednesday and there were obviously many people in the waiting room with flu symptoms so I'm sure that they've had many, many people walking into the hospital with the flu and I probably picked up the virus while there.

How's that for a kick in the head! You go to the hospital to feel better, not to get sick! As far as I know, my son is just fine. He said his mouth felt completely better the night after the tooth was pulled. Well, now he can take care of his old mom. LOL

The very worst thing about being sick right now is that our weather is absolutely beautiful! It reached 73F yesterday and is supposed to be that warm today, with lots of sunshine. I went out yesterday and planted some bushes that I rooted from cuttings of a bush I already had and today I'll be planting some vines that I also rooted and some flower seeds. Actually, going outside when the weather is so nice like this helps me to feel better. Maybe I'll even do some fishing. I guess it depends on how much energy I have.

I'll also be calling Social Security again today to see what is holding up that monthly check I was supposed to get at the beginning of this month. I know they said that the large check could take up to 30 days but I was told my monthly checks were to begin this month, yet I haven't received anything except a Medicare card. At least I can go see my doctor if this flu doesn't go away soon. I'd much rather have that money in my hand than a Medicare card, though! But, I do have the feeling that I'll be receiving the money soon and, sick or not, I'll be heading to the bank. When I do, I'll be sure to let you know to keep an eye on your bank. Maybe it'll be enough to get treatment for your problem (assuming it's no better by the time I get the money) as well as to get Zayzay in for testing. I certainly hope so! I so wish I had the money already so I could have helped you to get your problem taken care of sooner!

Well, you take it easy and try not to stress. Stress can weaken our immune system and that's never good! Hang in there, help is coming!

Oh, that picture of Zyruz (your avatar) is adorable! Who's glasses is he wearing? He looks so cute in them. happy

I really hope this will get healed soon. I just don't think this is good or bad, as the swelling is gone but there is no way, i guess, this will burst soon. It's getting smaller, as in it slowly sudsiding. If the antibiotics is working good, then maybe, it will not really going out. The pain is not that bad now and sometimes, I can sit better. But I still think I really need to see the doctor to open it if this will not be gone totally.

Of course, I will get worried about you too, even though it's just a mild flu. I get worried, knowing there is no one to take care of you there.

About the avatar, that photo was taken by her sister Joan one night. They playing and they saw that eyeglass and had making fun of him. The eyeglass was his cousin's. But don't worry, that's just a props and there is no grade in it. lol

It is really bad to be in such a situation that is painful causing you discomfort. I think that your health is better than your motorcycle. How about pawning or rent it to someone for money so you can have a good check-up. You can get it later when you accumulate enough money. That would be the best time for you to make a difficult decision whether you prefer to have your good health or lose it, or sell your motorcycle and use it for yourself. I hope that you come up with a wise decision for yourself, those who love you and depend on you.

thanks for the suggestion, but i think i have to set the motorcycle aside. this is also very important to me and my family. i am trying some herbal medications right now, as suggested by other friends.

Hi neildc, you poor thing, that sounds really bad and to not be able to afford to pay a doctor. I don't know if your pharmacies are anything like in the west but often the pharmacists will know what to give you without involving a doctor. Is there no medical help at all for those who cannot pay? What if it was one of your children? I thought the right to health care was free at some point to most people.

I hope you get rid of it soon and you can sit down with us again. cry

there are really times we could say, that people without money will die early because of money. because he has no money. i just can't explain well, but here in our place, sorry to say, that you really have to have money to avail of proper hospitalization. it is really sad to think, that if this will happen to our kids... anyway, i think the situation will be a lot different if this will happen to one of my kids.

What you most likely have is an infection. Don't worry. Whenever I have one of these, I take a small needle and poke the side of it, so I can carefully squeeze out the germs and icky green stuff inside. After clearing all of it from the infected area, I wash out the area and put on some antibacterial and put a band-aid around it. I suggest you do the same. After putting on the band-aid, you most likely have to wait a few days before it starts to get better. If anything else comes up, let us know. I'm happy to help=)

myLot reputation of 94/100. neildc (3508)   ranked 1 out of 108 in not interested at all  4 weeks ago

It is still not time to open it as i feel it still collecting to infection to come out, it's still raw. When my wife tried to use a needle, it won't get in.

Oh my poor best. How I wish I could be there to comfort you. Hope you're okay now. I'm so grateful that I haven't had this kind of irritation/infection. But whenever my sons have this I consult first the doctor and if it doesn't work, I rely on herbal medicines. Why don't you try this, I've come across this from a herbal medicine book that my mom bought for our library.
* Calendula - It is used as a herbal remedy for the treatment of boils. It can be used in herbal form or in low dilution.
* Propolis - It is widely used for the treatment of boils. It has many antibiotic properties which help prevent infection.
* Hepar Sulphuris Calcareum - When a boil is extremely tender and sensitive to touch, this remedy can be very helpful for the person. A person who needs this remedy usually is vulnerable and touchy, with extreme sensitivity to cold.
* Onion - Onion, when boiled, mashed and used as a poultice - works as a very good remedy.
* Burdock Root - It has antibiotic properties which helps to clear toxins.
* GoldenSeal - It is helpful for staph infections.
Haven't tried this one yet but hope it could help.
HUGZ always best..Miss you...get well soon...

myLot reputation of 94/100. neildc (3508)   ranked 1 out of 108 in not interested at all  4 weeks ago

Hi best, miss you too. I hope you feel fine now. Me, still fighting this little thing under my butt. LOL best, if only i can stay at home and always be on the bed.

With the names you stated, only onions is known to me. I don't know about the others, specially the Hepar Sulphuris Calcareum, LOL.

The others suggested gumamela and we also have plenty of them here. So by this time, I am trying this together with regular intake of antibiotics.

I really wish I get better soon.

Thanks best.

I wonder why I lack Vitamin C as what others say, since I love malunggay and we frequently use it with the food we eat. But anyway, I will try the juice too. Doesn't it taste bitter? LOL

I really think I would go with malunggay juice as I don't think I can afford Fern C.

By applying saluyot leaves and juice to pigsa will help the pus come out, when there is no "eye" when it should pass through? Or will just stop getting pigsa to get bigger?

myLot reputation of 93/100. salonga (4647)   ranked 22 out of 108 in not interested at all  4 weeks ago

Malunggay is called a miracle vegetable because on its own it is is packed with an unbelievable amount of nutrients seven times the vitamin C found in oranges, four times the vitamin A found in carrots, four times the calcium found in milk, three times the potassium found in bananas, and two times the protein found in yogurt. But the reason why we can't absorb all these nutrients in our body even if we frequently add malunggay in our viands is because we tend to overcook malunggay and in the process we destroy the nutrient. And besides just adding it to our viand will not give us much of its nutrients than when we are drinking its concentrated juice alone.

Yes indeed it taste bitter and you can overcome by just closing your nose and swallowing the juice immediately. You know it will also help maintain good skin texture.

Saluyot promotes the pigsa to ripen at once according to users and thereby pus can be easily removed. Try it and also you can also drink juice of saluyot just like japanese are doing to promote healthy skin.
