AARP gets paid off for their support with our money

It seems that AARP received $18,000,000 for job creation and created zero jobs. However they did support the Health Care bill and language was inserted in the bill to eliminate most private insurance companies but would allow AARP type insurance which will bring them billions in new revenue. I recently responded to a trial membership and have been receiving weekly messages from them about insurance deals and extra insurance I could purchase through them. They are out to help me but make billions off of seniors while offering them discounts on purchases. Discounts which you can get by simply being a member of a group or have a certain credit card. AARP leadership lobbied against the wishes of their members to increase their power and wealth.

I have never liked AARP. First, none of their so called discounts are as good as I can get sleuthing on my own, and second, because of shenanigans like this. They're like a lot of liberals once they taste power - they could care less about what their members actually want and need and promises mean nothing to them.

Some people feel that AARP has done more to ruin Social Security by supporting increased benefits and expanding programs and no concern for the cost to future generations. Yet their insurance business seems to be doing very well. AARP is all about a few making a big profit and making the members they are concerned about them.

I used to be a die hard supporter of the AARP. I have quit my membership and will never go back because of their entrance into the political arena. I can't support a group with which I have such fundamental political differences with. I also think they should have stayed out. They had members from all walks of like and all political inclinations. They have essentially said that they don't want conservatives anymore. Well I will give them what they asked for. I say boycott them.

I have been reading about their ill-advised backing of the healthcare bill. They stand to make a lot of money from it at the expense of their members, and many members are dropping out as a result. I refuse to have anything to do with AARP. I had them pegged as a liberal organization many years ago. Their correspondence goes right to the trash.

Is anyone really surprised? The real question is are we the public to stand for it or are we going to publicly call them out on it IN MASS.
