The pie selection at the grocery store was dismall at best and the pies I actually wanted were so expensive. So I am not buying any store bought pies this year. I always make pumpkin pie, but this year I am going to make Pecan pie, lemon merengue pie, and chocolate cream pie. How about you are you baking any pies this year? If so what kind?

Hello Lady. I want to come to your house for desert....LOl Yes I am going to make a pecan pie. Don't know if we will make any more then that. We too like you those ready made pies are too expensive, and they don't taste as good as homemade pies. Made banana bread so we may not make more then one pie. We are expecting only a couple of friends, but haven't gotten them to say they were coming or not, so it really depends on if they are coming or not.Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you Lady I love desert but I don't like the weight gain by eating them....LOL Our thanksgiving turned out okay. Hope you had a great thanksgiving day too. I love the left overs but hate having to put them up. Thank God I got that done this morning actually just finished putting them up. Did make the pecan pie I don't know how it turned out though we never ate any of it. Was too stuffed from all the good stuff we made. Hope you have a great day!

Apple is always good. Pumpkin is actually really simple. Just follow the directions on the Libbys pumpking pan and use a pre-made crust.

My family would feel deprived if I didn't make pumpkin pies. I don't care for store bought pies and they're too expensive for my budget anyway. I do have some apples I canned this fall, but those will go for Christmas desserts.

We typically bake pies every year. This years we are having fresh pecan pie from the pecans that fell off of our trees and fresh lemon meringue pie, the juice will be from lemons that we have in our yard as well. We have always made it a part of our Thanksgiving tradition to bake our own pies. We love having the fresh pies to enjoy. They are a lot better than what you can find in the stores at times. Best of luck in your pie baking!

I am baking Pumpkin Pie this Thanksgiving just like I do every year. I also make my famous fudge and this year I am trying my hand at making Truffles. I know the stores have been expensive when it comes to pies. Actually, most food items are getting expensive. I usually shop at Wal-mart and even they are getting expensive lately. The chocolate cream pie sounds really good.

chocolate and lemon meringue..one each..pumpkin 2 so I don't have to listen to the boys fight over one, last year my nephew tried to jump over the counter to get to the last slice and broke his thumb..Pecan for my brother-in-law and Peach for hubby. If that's not enough for the lot of them, they can wait until Christmas!

If I bake any they will be lemon meringue and apple pie. In my own humble opinion I make the best apple pie around. I love my lemon meringue as well.

For Thanksgiving dinner at my mothers house I had intended to make a creamy pumpkin pie but I didnt have any vanilla pudding that I needed so I could only make a swiss vegetable casserole. Then two days after Thanksgiving my exes parents were having a after thanksgiving dinner thing and I made the creamy pumpkin pie. It was pretty good! It has cool whip and pumpkin and vanilla pudding in it. I know it had pumpkin pie spice in it but I cant remember if there were any other ingredients or not. It was really easy to make.

I'm not a baker, besides my kitchen is like a galley, no room! I would rather eat a pie and compliment the chef then try to attempt the impossible. I love lemon merengue, I'll be over at 1:00pm. :)

U are so lucky to have a lenon tree in your yard. I would love that but they don't grow here. I love lemons in my iced tea & they are pretty expensive to buy but i do. Hope u have a great thanksgiving.

I usually bake pecan pies - but wow the price of pecans is outrageous. I think I will go with apple cranberry pie and maybe a chocolate pie. I also like to do cakes so I am going to do a seven layer chocolate cake and and upside down tropical fruit cake. I always cook too much but I like to take things to work for my co-workers to enjoy too. Cooking is very relaxing and I like the feeling of accomplishment you get from it. Have a great Thanksgiving.
