Saving money Part 2  

-Download warez instead of paid software. ( Unless the police is behind your back)
-Go to a second hand shop regularly when you need something. Check out whether what you're looking for is sold there.
-Don't buy products from the most expensive brand, it's cheaper to go for the lesser known brands. ;-)

Hey, that's a good idea. I've considered putting the payout to $100.00 but my husband and I were first waiting until after I wedding (I believe) and then now after Christmas. I think it'd be safe for me to put it at $100.00 but I'd have to ask hubby his opinion. That and I also think that I'd rather be able to earn say $50.00 a month here before I put the total at $100.00.

In any case, I'm sorry I forgot to brainstorm on the last discussion.

My husband and I are buying on amazon and using amazon gift cards we earn online to pay for some of our purchases. You can save these codes in your amazon account and then when you get ready to purchase something you can use them or wait. Amazon has great deals, great shipping and often has super saver shipping for free with bulk orders!

Now another thing is to get a can of pringles and eat them (not all in one setting) but place the money in the cans. We had a friend at one time who mentioned that to us, and we thought it was a great idea. Now we do that and though we haven't been saving it helps. We also have envelopes in our closet to divide our money and place it in the door. We have a bill folder, and we have a lot of folders we no longer need.

i like mylot for that reason but i dont shop a whole lot of shopping online but i do transfer the money over to our bank account. plus, i shop all through the year for christmas.

I am very frugal. I may have said it before but my favourite tip is to save all of my change and at Christmas I have always had enough for a turkey and ham and roasting chicken. I did so well this year as I have just changed out my money that I am putting my change in a container already for next Christmas.

Next a small bottle of hydrogen peroxide will clean most things. Just put some in a spray bottle for cleaning surfaces etc with water. Read fine print for moire info.

Vinegar is used a lot in my house to clean THE FLOOR TILES ETC.

Always use half of recommended amount of detergent in washing machine and always wash on cold cycle and the shortest possible cycle for clean clothes. I too have not yet taken my amount for Mylot - but this is because I have really messed up my account with pay pal and haven't yet worked out how to rectify it!

Ah, here you are. You could also keep your payout at $10 but put the money in an interest-bearing savings account each time you collect and then by the time you have reached $100 there will be a few dollars more saved up.

I like the idea of setting the target, but then setting a high threshold for the cash is something which differs on personal basis.Instead of your current online earning sites, check out for a few more ligetimate ones ,thereby allowing you to increase your earnings.
I think doing the ptc sites, during the odd works in office is great.That is some utilisation of time and is fruitful in a good way.Also on other activites, which could indirectly help you in earning.But then focus on the actitivity than the money you earn.The importance should be on the way you enjoy and not on what you earn.And slowly but gradually you could increase and change a few parameters and increase online earnings.

I will start off by saying that I've considered raising my payout amount here as well, but I instead have a goal of 12.50 that I want to reach per month so that it can pay for my subscription to Winster which in turn gets me on average 25 dollars worth of Amazon gift cards per month. Using my Amazon gift cards has been a way that I saved a ton of money on my Christmas shopping this year.

As far as other ideas to save money, here are some that we are doing at our house:

1) We are doing the majority of our grocery shopping at Aldi's because the price is so much lower than the major grocery stores here. I was able to buy food for almost two weeks for our family of 4 (plus lunches for my nieces and my son) for 116 dollars.

2) My husband is a heavy smoker and I am a light smoker (even though I wish to quit) but we've decided that instead of buying retail cigarettes, we are now rolling our own cigarettes. The price of smoking per week for us has now decreased from nearly $90 per week to right at $25 per week.

3) We used to go out to eat at least one time every weekend because I was sick of cooking. Now, however, we limit going out to eat to once every 2-3 weeks. It is more enjoyable to us and it saves us a lot of money as well.

I have lots of money saving ideas, so here goes -

Turn the temperature down on radiators.

When the heating is on, close all doors and windows.

If you over boil the kettle, put the extra water in a thermos flak and use for your next brew.

Watch TV in the dark.

Go food shopping when items are reduced and buy stuff that can be frozen.

There it is.... lol, I was wondering where your second idea was in the first discussion. I'm also using saving my mylot earnings for next year's holidays. You could also try to shop for bargains. I try to make a list monthly of all the things I need, whether it be groceries, cleaning supplies, or frames to hang up pictures. Then I'll pick a day to search online for the larger items...It's easy to click from one site to the next and find the best price on the same item. For your kids, have them try to put all of their loose change in a jar. At the end of the month take them shopping...my mom did this for us when we were kids, and we loved it! Try to put at least one coin in a day. Before you know it, you'll have a full jar for them to shop with.
